  • Typically 8+ years building and owning production enterprise web applications; strong evidence of full-stack delivery, architecture leadership, and operational ownership may offset years.
  • Deep experience with the PANN technology stack (PostgreSQL, Angular, NestJS, Node.js) and modern web development frameworks.
  • Proven ability to design and evolve microservices architectures, including service boundaries, API contracts, and operational concerns.
  • Strong experience using Prisma for data modeling, database access, and schema migrations at scale.
  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, REST APIs, and modern application architecture patterns.
  • Strong experience designing, developing, and optimizing relational and non-relational databases, including hands-on PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning.
  • Experience containerizing and operating services with Docker and/or Kubernetes, and deploying and managing web servers, load balancers, and reverse proxies such as Nginx or Apache.
  • Experience with cloud-based application development and deployment, including security and cost/performance tradeoffs.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and improving developer productivity through automation.
  • Practical, production-oriented experience with AI technologies, including large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge extraction, and automation workflows, including evaluation, safety, and quality considerations.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle best practices, testing strategies, secure coding principles, and threat modeling.
  • Experience integrating multiple systems through APIs, eventing, and data services, and ability to create durable integration patterns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to influence without authority and align cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise web applications and services, with end-to-end accountability for outcomes.
  • Drive architecture across the full stack, including front-end, back-end, databases, and cloud, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Set and evolve platform patterns and best practices using the PANN technology stack and associated development frameworks.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, engineering, product, and business teams to define strategy, translate needs into technical roadmaps, and deliver high-value solutions.
  • Own complex workflow design and deliver intuitive user experiences that simplify sophisticated business processes.
  • Design and optimize relational and non-relational data architectures, and guide data modeling standards and performance tuning practices.
  • Lead development of AI-enabled capabilities for automation, analysis, content generation, and knowledge extraction, including evaluation and responsible adoption.
  • Architect integrations across business systems, knowledge repositories, and AI services, and define integration standards and reusable components.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical solutions that improve developer velocity, user productivity, and operational excellence.
  • Establish and improve monitoring, alerting, service level objectives and indicators, incident response practices, and continuous improvement loops.
  • Mentor engineers, review designs and code for quality and security, and raise the bar for engineering execution across the team.

About the company

Synopsys provides software tools and services for electronic design automation (EDA), helping engineers design, simulate, verify, and optimize semiconductor chips and systems. Its products cover the full design flow, including RTL-to-gating synthesis, place-and-route, timing analysis, verification, and silicon validation, as well as software integrity solutions and hardware-assisted verification. Engineers use these tools to model, simulate, and validate complex chip designs before manufacturing, reducing bugs and improving performance. Compared with many competitors, Synopsys differentiates itself through its broad, end-to-end design toolchain, large ecosystem of IP and integration with simulation and modeling capabilities gained from its 2025 merger with ANSYS, and its global scale and support. The company aims to help designers push the boundaries of chip and system performance, accelerate time-to-market, and enable silicon-to-systems design across a wide range of industries.

What believers are saying

  • Synopsys raised fiscal 2027 revenue guidance to $11.15 billion on September 30, 2026.
  • Management targets roughly 50% operating margin by fiscal 2030 and $1 billion buybacks.
  • Ansys synergies finish early in fiscal 2027, supporting faster margin expansion.

What critics are saying

  • China export restrictions slowed new projects and cut IP revenue in 2026.
  • Synopsys cut 128 Sunnyvale jobs after prior 10% restructuring, signaling integration strain.
  • Customers like Samsung are building in-house manufacturing tools, threatening long-term lock-in.

What makes Synopsys unique

  • Synopsys and Ansys now span EDA, simulation, and silicon IP after July 2025.
  • Synopsys locked AWS into a $1 billion-plus IP deal on September 30, 2026.
  • GPT-Synopsys with OpenAI gives Synopsys proprietary AI workflows competitors lack.

Synopsys eyes $17B revenue by 2030 as AI shifts to profit gains, but valuation leaves little room

Synopsys could benefit as AI spending shifts from building data centres to boosting efficiency, one analyst argues. The chip-design software maker would be her pick through 2030. Synopsys signed a multi-year licensing deal worth more than $1 billion with Amazon for custom chip IP. Its $34.9 billion Ansys acquisition is expected to add $400 million in annualised revenue by fiscal 2029. Management targets 15% annual revenue growth through fiscal 2030, which would lift revenue to nearly $17 billion. Design IP revenue, however, fell 0.7% in the first nine months of fiscal 2026. Shares trade at about 27 times projected fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings. At 20 times 2030 earnings, the stock could reach about $745, or 46% upside; at 15 times, about $559, or 10%.

Synopsys and Siemens adopt Nvidia's CUDA-X libraries for chipmaking

Nvidia said Synopsys and Siemens are adopting its CUDA-X libraries for chipmaking. The announcement places Synopsys' adoption within a broader partnership with Nvidia on engineering and design. Nvidia said Siemens uses cuLitho for chip-pattern refinement and mask preparation. Siemens also works with Nvidia on industrial AI and manufacturing digital twins. Nvidia said cuPotential is available in early access. NanoVDB is open source within OpenVDB, while NPP is available through the CUDA Toolkit.

Synopsys stock surges 13% after $1B Amazon deal and upgraded FY27 guidance

Synopsys shares surged 13% to $491 following the chip-design software maker's Investor Day, where management announced fiscal 2027 revenue guidance of $11.10 billion to $11.20 billion and earnings per share of $19.04 to $19.12, significantly exceeding analyst estimates of $10.81 billion and $17.81 respectively. The company revealed a multi-year deal with Amazon Web Services worth more than $1 billion to licence chip-design intellectual property for custom silicon. CEO Sassine Ghazi noted that royalties will begin once designs reach production in approximately 14 months. Synopsys also announced a partnership with OpenAI to develop GPT-Synopsys, a chip-design model under a revenue-sharing agreement. The company raised its fiscal 2030 operating margin target to approximately 50% from the mid-40s and announced a $1 billion share buyback programme.
