Requirements
  • An associate's degree and one year of experience appropriate to the area of assignment or field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Significant understanding of course concepts sufficient to provide substantive feedback and grade learner assignments accurately and promptly.
  • Availability for 5–20 hours per week per 8-week session, with a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Completion of required fingerprinting as part of the hiring process.
  • Completion of ENG 101, ENG 102, ENG 105, or an equivalent course.
Responsibilities
  • Provide feedback and grade learner assignments in online courses.
  • Support faculty with learner assessment, grade support, and feedback on in-class activities and assignments.
  • Monitor and grade assignments.
  • Help learners navigate challenges within the Universal Learner Course.
  • Address learner challenges through course discussion boards.
  • Monitor and engage in discussion activities within course discussion boards.
  • Host live sessions with learners as assigned by faculty members.
  • Participate in initial training and calibration sessions, which may be synchronous or asynchronous.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Learning Enterprise team.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in a related course or area of experience.
  • Prior teaching experience, preferably with high-school students.
  • Experience as a tutor or with student success.
  • Experience with Canvas or a comparable learning management system.
  • Content knowledge or coursework in a related field.
  • Commitment to directly advancing education equity for scholars in underserved communities.
  • Excellent engagement, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work proactively with limited oversight.
  • Ability to excel in changing or challenging circumstances.
  • Commitment to provide consistent support to students.
