Salary Range:

$46,215.00 - $60,080.00Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, assists in the preparation of
procedures and care, maintenance of specialty instruments. In addition, scrubs and circulates throughout the procedural area as directed/ or assigned by Registered Nurse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following, but other duties may be assigned as necessary:

· Functions as part of the Endoscopy Team

· Considers the age and the special characteristics of the patients served on assigned area

· Circulates under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse

· Assists charge nurse with gathering of equipment and setup for Endoscopy procedures

· Demonstrates knowledge and appropriately handling of all endoscopy equipment · Demonstrates basic knowledge of endoscopic procedures

· Demonstrates appropriate handling of scopes

· Understands the process for high level disinfection

· Demonstrates and follows the regulations on scope reprocessing, cleaning; including decontamination and the use of the reprocessing machines

· Supports the registered Nurse in the procedural area that is assigned

· Demonstrates a knowledge of the proper handling of all endoscopy specimens, including labeling, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse

· Preforms duties in an independent manner with Registered Nurse supervision

· Completes special assignments give to him/her by the Assistant Nurse Manager and reports regulars on the status of ongoing projects

· Assists the Registered Nurse in providing a quiet, orderly, safe, and efficient environment in the endoscopy suite

· Assists in the cleaning and preparation of rooms between procedures, restock supplies when necessary, and organizes effectively for cases and clean up

· Actively participates in mandatory as well as scheduled endoscopy in-services and staff meetings

· Functions as a call person of call endoscopy procedures, including weekends and holidays.

· Identifies own learning needs and seeks opportunities for self-growth
