Requirements

Pediatric experience is required; pediatric emergency room, general pediatrics, or urgent care experience is preferred.
Active American Nurses Credentialing Center Board Certification or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Certification is required.
An active registered nurse license, if applicable, and nurse practitioner or physician assistant state licenses are required for each state where treating patients.
A Master of Science in Nursing, doctoral degree in Nursing, or Master of Physician Assistant Studies is required.
At least 2 years of independent pediatric clinical experience as an advanced practice provider outside of rotations, or at least 1 year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience, is required.
Ability to think critically, multitask, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team is required.
Computer skills and experience with electronic medical records are required.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and nonverbally is required.

Responsibilities

Assess and provide evidence-based treatment for acute injuries and illnesses in pediatric patients seen in person and through telemedicine, including febrile infants and children, ear, nose, and throat infections, pediatric abdominal pain, anaphylaxis, procedural anxiolysis, respiratory distress, croup, and asthma.
Perform common urgent care procedures, including abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair using sutures, staples, and dermal adhesive.
Obtain and provide preliminary interpretation of radiographs with radiologist over-reads in applicable states; necessary training will be provided.
Oversee daily operations and patient flow for in-person and telemedicine visits, including oversight of other providers, staff, and trainees on shift.
Adhere to established policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations, and proactively report needed changes to the management team.
Collaborate with on-site and telemedicine teams to complete daily tasks, including reviewing laboratory and radiology results, following up with patients, and responding promptly to patient calls and questions.
Promote a safe, secure, equitable, and healthy work environment by enforcing safety protocols, upholding quality standards, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Update knowledge and skills through internal training, continuing education, professional publications, and participation in professional organizations.
Assist staff and patients with complaints as part of service recovery efforts.
Focus on efficiency metrics to improve in-person and telemedicine urgent care flow, antibiotic stewardship, and patient experience.

Desired Qualifications

Pediatric emergency room, general pediatrics, or urgent care experience is preferred.
Experience with eClinicalWorks is preferred.

Description

PM Pediatric Care is hiring AdvancedPractice Providers (APPs) with significant pediatric or urgent care/ER experience to join our team. Under the guidance of the Regional Medical Officer, APPsare responsible for evaluating and providing evidence-based treatment to pediatric patients in an urgent care setting.

Job Responsibilities:

Qualifications

Compensation:

$110,000 - $180,000

The salary/rate range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary/rate for this role. Please note that actual salaries/rates may vary within this range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and based on experience and qualifications.
