- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in at least one US state
- 10+ years of significant and broad-based experience in multiple legal disciplines
- 4-6 years serving as in-house Legal Counsel, Associate General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or a similar position
- Experience working at a software as a service (SaaS) company or similar forward thinking technology company
- Build and oversee a world-class Legal organization, managing the workflow of the Legal team
- Represent the company and employees in a full range of legal matters, including labor and employment, contract, intellectual property, litigation, and more
- Assess, improve and operationalize legal processes ensuring compliance as it relates to laws, regulations, and requirements
- Build and maintain relationships with outside counsel
- Manage outside counsel budget, activities, and reduce usage
- Provide strategic partnership to executive leaders, and ensure alignment to organizational strategy, values, and principles
- Partner with the People team regarding various personnel matters, policies, and complex employee relations issues
- Educate, inform and regularly update internal teams and leadership on relevant law changes that impact their day to day work flow through written communication, joining ad hoc meetings, presenting in a virtual training live or through pre-recorded webinar
- Attend all benefit committee meetings including renewal meetings with outside brokers
- Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices with an emphasis on employment law, data privacy and artificial intelligence
- Perform other related duties as assigned
