Circle K advances two Jacksonville projects as Northeast Florida footprint grows.

Circle K advances two Jacksonville projects as Northeast Florida footprint grows. The convenience retailer is adding to its established regional presence with proposed stores in Southwest Jacksonville and Arlington. Published Date: October 30, 2026, 4:01 AM EDT Circle K continues expanding its Jacksonville footprint with two additional convenience store and fueling projects (Image credit: Circle K) Circle K is continuing to expand its Northeast Florida footprint, with two additional Jacksonville locations in the development pipeline. One is proposed near Normandy Boulevard and Yellow Water Road in Southwest Jacksonville, while the other is planned for an outparcel at The Nexus at Regency redevelopment. The Jacksonville Daily Record reported on both projects October 26. According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, the proposed Southwest Jacksonville development could include a 3,956-square-foot convenience store and 12 fueling positions, including diesel pumps. JEA issued a service-availability determination letter for the property on October 22, an early indication that the project is being explored. It does not mean the development has received final approval. Circle K is also preparing another Jacksonville location at The Nexus at Regency, the redevelopment of the former Regency Square Mall in Arlington. The city is reviewing a construction permit for the 5,200-square-foot gas station and convenience store, the publication reported. The two projects would add to Circle K's established presence in Northeast Florida, where the retailer already operates more than 100 locations. Its footprint includes at least 60 stores in Duval County, with additional locations throughout St. Johns, Clay, Nassau and Baker counties, according to the publication. Circle K Stores Inc. is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, and operates under parent company Alimentation Couche-Tard, a Canadian convenience and fuel retail group. The company operates thousands of stores internationally, with locations across North America and several European and Asian markets, according to the publication. With both Jacksonville developments at different stages of review, Circle K continues to build on its regional network, adding potential convenience and fueling options in two areas of the city. Circle K sold alcohol to driver who killed motorcyclist in Little River, suit says.

Circle K sold alcohol to driver who killed motorcyclist in Little River, suit says. October 15, 2026 1:01 PM Gift Article The wife of a motorcyclist who died in a car crash is suing Circle K Stores Inc. for wrongful death, claiming two of its Horry County convenience stores sold alcohol to an intoxicated woman who caused the collision. Deborah Marshall filed a second amended complaint individually and on behalf of her husband's estate. She says the two locations sold alcohol or provided alcohol to Kayla Tisdale on April 4, 2025, before she crashed into 62-year-old Steven Marshall. Circle K did not immediately respond to The Sun News' request for comment. Tisdale was driving with a 0.19 blood alcohol concentration when she hit Steven Marshall on Sea Mountain Highway in North Myrtle Beach. Her blood alcohol content level was almost three times higher than the legal limit of 0.08, The Sun News previously reported. Circle K, the complaint argues, should have recognized that Tisdale was already intoxicated before selling her alcohol. The lawsuit comes three months after Tisdale pled guilty in July to driving under the influence resulting in death and was sentenced to 14 years in prison. A few months prior to her guilty plea, Tisdale had also been federally convicted of laundering $750,000 in assets that were illegally obtained using proceeds during drug trafficking. Tisdale has also been named in the lawsuit, which alleges that she had taken multiple prescription drugs and mixed them with alcohol before the crash. Deborah Marshall is seeking actual and punitive damages against both Circle K and Tisdale. The day of the crash. Tisdale previously told investigators that she had been drinking since 8:30 a.m. the morning of the collision. According to the lawsuit, she had also allegedly taken prescription drugs before 7 a.m. The lawsuit states after she took the prescriptions, Tisdale purchased several alcoholic beverages from a North Myrtle Beach Circle K, located at 1501 Highway 17 North, where she had previously been employed. Tisdale, the lawsuit argues, should not have been provided alcohol throughout the morning because "it would have been obvious to anyone, including employees of Circle K, that (Tisdale) was intoxicated." After she left the North Myrtle Beach Circle K, Tisdale traveled to a Circle K store at 13 Highway 90 East in Little River, where she made her third alcohol purchase around 12:56 p.m., according to the lawsuit. At this time, Tisdale would have been blackout drunk, according to the lawsuit. During her sentencing hearing in July, Tisdale told the court that she did not remember purchasing her last drink from Circle K, which was caught on surveillance video, The Sun News previously reported. The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. when Tisdale, who was driving a Cadillac SUV, turned right from Morgan Avenue onto the highway and hit Steven Marshall. EMS transported Steven Marshall to the Grand Strand Medical Center where he died at 6:39 p.m. Tisdale left the scene and picked up her daughter from elementary school before she was arrested by troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol as she pulled up to a house. Circle K's alleged practices. Deborah Marshall is also suing Circle K Stores Inc. for alcohol liability and gross negligence, accusing the chain of prioritizing profit over safety in how it sells alcohol. The lawsuit accuses Circle K of selling "iced down and ready to consume alcoholic beverages" that are accessible throughout the store and failing to properly train its staff on the sale of alcohol to the public. The store's employees, the lawsuit argues, should have stopped serving alcohol to Tisdale at both of the locations, due to her level of intoxication. The lawsuit claims that Circle K caused Tisdale to become intoxicated in violation of state law and failed to: * Ensure Tisdale would not operate a motor vehicle while remaining intoxicated or drive on South Carolina roadways * Hire and retain employees who know the proper service of alcohol * Make sure staff was adequately trained in alcohol sales * Implement policies or procedures necessary for the sale of alcohol to the public. Circle K and Starbucks planned for Lincoln's Joiner Parkway.

Circle K and Starbucks planned for Lincoln's Joiner Parkway. The convenience store and drive-thru coffee shop would share a two-acre site. Published Date: October 5, 2026, 5:19 PM EDT Circle K is planning a new gas station and convenience store at the corner of Joiner Parkway and First Street in Lincoln, paired with a Starbucks drive-thru on the same site. A recent California ABC filing for an off-sale general license, which covers beer, wine and spirits sales, points to the project moving toward an opening, though no date has been announced. The two businesses would split a two-acre property into separate one-acre parcels, with Circle K taking one lot for fuel pumps and a convenience store and Starbucks taking the other for a quick-service restaurant with a drive-through. The project is being developed by Green River Partners, which filed its plans with the City of Lincoln in June. The convenience store brand is one of the largest convenience store operators in the world. The chain already lists a Lincoln station on North Service Road, so the Joiner Parkway store would give it a second presence in the city, this time closer to the downtown corridor. The pairing of a fuel stop and a drive-thru coffee shop has become a common format for Circle K in California. The company has been building new stores alongside Starbucks drive-thrus in other parts of the state, including a recently built combination in Cathedral City. Lincoln has continued to add retail and food options as its population grows. A new fuel and coffee stop near the First Street and Joiner Parkway intersection would add a convenient option for commuters and residents on that side of town, with the alcohol license covering the beer, wine and spirits that Circle K stocks at most of its stores. 7-Eleven, Circle K accused of overcharging customers across the US.

7-Eleven, Circle K accused of overcharging customers across the US. Two major convenience store chains have been wrongly charging customers exorbitant prices, studies show. An investigation by the Guardian revealed that 7-Eleven and Circle K have been overcharging customers for years, including food and alcohol sales. The investigation discovered widespread false advertising at both chains, with customers being charged more than the prices listed on shelves and sale signs. Furthermore, these price discrepancies greatly differed state to state. The report found Circle K failed 35 percent of price-accuracy inspections in Florida, 62 percent in North Carolina, and 82 percent in Columbus, Ohio, between 2023 and 2025. 7-Eleven also failed price-accuracy inspections at an alarming rate. The Slurpee-serving store failed 47 percent of inspections in Colorado and Utah and a whopping 79 percent in Ontario County, New York. 7-Eleven, Circle K face damning allegations. Both convenience stores released statements following the investigation. "Delivering value and maintaining trust amongst our customers is a top priority. We take pricing accuracy very seriously," a spokesperson for 7-Eleven said, per the Guardian. A spokesperson for Circle K said that the company is "committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations". The spokesperson said the chain's mission "is to make our customers' lives a little easier every day. So their satisfaction is a top priority. We take customer concerns seriously and are always working to improve their experience in our stores." For Circle K, this is not the first time this year the franchise made headlines for overcharging customers. Over the summer, a Circle K shopper was promoted to make an $8 billion dollar donation while purchasing hot dogs. During checkout, an AI-powered self-checkout kiosk added an $8 billion donationto a customer's order. The shopper shared a picture of the staggering donation amount on Reddit, saying, "I just wanted a hot dog." According to the customer, the kiosk prompted him to make a multi-billion-dollar donation to the Red Cross. "Yesterday, tho, it threw this little gem in thinking I wouldn't notice an $8.5 Billion Donation to the Red Cross," they wrote. "Don't get me wrong, I like what they do and all, but this is a bit much."
