Requirements
  • Strong user experience and user interface design foundation, including experience translating product requirements and rough concepts into polished, usable interfaces.
  • Experience owning design systems and the visual craft of a product, including typography, color, spacing, motion, and overall interface quality.
  • A track record of making product prioritization decisions and sound judgment calls during product reviews.
  • Experience establishing design review and user acceptance testing practices that teams follow.
  • Experience prototyping and building real product user interfaces within the same workflow and shipping production code directly rather than only filing issues.
  • Hands-on experience reading and fixing code in a production codebase, including resolving front-end bugs, user interface regressions, and polish issues directly.
  • Strong front-end development experience with React, TypeScript, and CSS or Tailwind, using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar.
  • Experience applying visual design judgment to improve product usability and quality in complex, data-dense business-to-business or enterprise software interfaces such as dashboards, observability, time-series, or operational tooling.
  • Comfort working in an early-stage, fast-moving environment where processes are defined as the team goes.
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineering and partnering with product, leadership, and other cross-functional teammates to guide reviews, user acceptance testing, and product decisions.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Define, document, and maintain a coherent component library, design tokens, and usage patterns so the team ships consistent, high-quality user interfaces.
  • Own the product's aesthetic and visual identity, including typography, color, spacing, motion, and overall interface craft.
  • Design and run the team's User Acceptance Testing process, defining what is complete and correct before releases reach customers.
  • Lead design reviews, set quality standards, provide actionable feedback, and maintain quality across product surfaces.
  • Investigate issues found through User Acceptance Testing and fix them directly in the codebase, including front-end bugs, user interface regressions, polish issues, and occasional deeper changes.
  • Contribute visual design and implementation work to the marketing site and other marketing surfaces when needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience contributing visual design work to marketing websites or other web surfaces when needed.
  • Familiarity with Vite.
  • Familiarity with Django or Python for occasional deeper fixes.
  • Exposure to data visualization design.
