Bra pioneer Thirdlove plans expansion with 10 new retail stores across U.S. By Alex Barreira - Staff Reporter, San Francisco Business Times Oct 8, 2026 Updated Oct 9, 2026 7:11am EDT See Correction/Clarification at the end of this article. A pioneering San Francisco direct-to-consumer lingerie and custom-fit bra brand, Thirdlove, is planning a nationwide expansion that includes opening a new local retail store. Thirdlove recently opened a new boutique in Marin County's Corte Madera Town Center, the company's fourth brick-and-mortar to open in the Bay Area since its first permanent store in 2022. Next up, Thirdlove has agreements in place for nine mall stores in new markets up and down both coasts. Thirdlove has just opened or plans to soon open in the following locations: GET TO KNOW YOUR CITY Find Local Events Near You Connect with a community of local professionals. * Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California; * Washington Square mall in Portland, Oregon; * The Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York; * Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey; * Copley Place in Boston, Massachusetts; * King of Prussia mall in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; * The Mall at Green Hills in Nashville, Tennessee; * Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta, Georgia; and * Aventura Mall in Aventura, Florida. Thirdlove confirmed through a spokesperson that customers can expect all of the stores to open through the end of the year into 2027. According to the store page for Copley Place, the Boston location could open as soon as Oct. 16. Six of the nine stores beyond the Bay Area are in malls managed by Simon Property Group. Founded by CEO Heidi Zak and husband David Spector in 2013, Thirdlove rose to acclaim and raised tens of millions of dollars in venture backing for its custom-feeling, size inclusive bras that aim to give women a third option between stylish but uncomfortable (read: ill-fitting) or comfortable but plain. The brand was one of the first to market bras in half-cup sizes to its large direct-to-consumer audience. Thirdlove's retail presence beyond the Bay Area has so far included partnerships to sell its products in luxury department store Neiman Marcus and retail chain Belk, primarily across the Southern U.S. Thirdlove previously opened a temporary retail store in New York's SoHo neighborhood in 2019. Online, meanwhile, the brand is available on Amazon and through its own website. The bra brand's existing permanent brick-and-mortars started with San Francisco's Pacific Heights in 2022, followed by Walnut Creek's Broadway Plaza shopping center, Santa Clara's Westfield Valley Fair mall and Corte Madera Town Center in September. The Corte Madera store sells the brand's selection of bras, underwear and loungewear and offers personalized, one-on-one fittings with Thirdlove's in-store stylists. The company promised community perks and other programming connected with the new opening. Correction/Clarification An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported the status of Thirdlove's Del Amo location. The store in Torrance is not yet open.
