About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Know environmental, health and safety (EHS) relevant laws and regulations.
  • Obey all company EHS rules, including policies, procedures, standard operating procedures, and other requirements.
  • Have 2–3 years of work experience, including at least 1 year working as a buyer.
  • Be fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
  • Have computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Have communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase appointed raw materials and products, qualify them, request quotations, and negotiate commercial terms.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain updated purchasing information, including prices, payment terms, and lead times.
  • Follow up with suppliers on order acknowledgements, delivery plans, and shipping schedules to ensure ordered materials and products arrive on time.
  • Support planners in controlling material inventory value and levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement in material management and cost control, and support localization of qualified products and vendors to improve supply.
  • Support the new product introduction process and coordinate with other departments on sourcing inquiries and purchasing for new materials and products.
  • Liaise with global peers to provide and obtain support as needed.
  • File claims with suppliers regarding material quality problems and communicate with the quality department.
  • Implement purchasing governance processes in compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Maintain master data, prepare monthly reports, and manage information and data as required.
  • Provide backup support for maintenance, repair, and operations purchasing.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Desired Qualifications

  • An engineering background is preferred.
