Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience designing in the fire and life safety industry.
  • At least 5 years of fire sprinkler experience.
  • Understanding of Fire and Life Safety Code, including NFPA, California Fire Code, International Building Code, and International Fire Code.
  • Ability to perform calculations on fire sprinkler designs.
  • Experience comprehending specifications, contract drawings, bid set plans, and related documents.
  • Experience coordinating field employees to follow plans.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to follow direction, complete assigned tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to complete multiple projects, prioritize work, and see projects through from start to finish.
Responsibilities
  • Create plans, blueprints, design drawings, submittal documents, and calculations for projects in Northern California and surrounding areas.
  • Obtain permits and submit required documents to jurisdictional authorities and general contractors.
  • Coordinate with field personnel on installations and service.
  • Communicate timelines to customers and contractors.
  • Order materials and parts for field installations.
  • Use Fire and Life Safety Code knowledge to support the sales team, service team, and field employees.
  • Follow up proactively on submittals and approvals to maintain the project schedule.
Desired Qualifications
  • NICET certification.
  • Experience with the MEP CAD suite, including AutoSprink and AlarmCAD.
  • Experience with HydraCAD.
  • Sales and design-bid experience.
