Requirements
  • Ability to operate a computer and point-of-sale terminal; prior experience is not required.
  • ServSafe certification with a minimum score of 75% is required.
  • Normal or corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, sit, or stoop with good balance for extended periods.
  • Ability to carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Physical presence onsite is essential.
Responsibilities
  • Receive the change fund, perform cashier duties, and turn the funds and change fund over to the responsible supervisor at the end of the shift.
  • Complete required records and receipts in accordance with standard policies and procedures.
  • Enter patron-selected food items into the point-of-sale system, collect payment, make change when appropriate, and provide receipts.
  • Secure cash and other sales or charge records in the cash drawer or another designated location.
  • Assist with simple food preparation, baking, setup, and food service in the Patio Grille and other designated locations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the work area and assist with cleaning the dining room, Patio Grille, and other assigned areas.
  • Work variable shifts when required.
  • Adhere to DCH Health System and Nutritional Services policies and procedures.
  • Maintain performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards outlined in the performance evaluation.
  • Perform compliance requirements outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Follow DCH Behavioral Standards and create positive relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and colleagues.
  • Perform essential job functions in a manner that ensures the safety of patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Identify and reduce unsafe practices that may harm patients, visitors, or employees.
  • Recognize and take appropriate action to reduce risks and hazards to promote safety.
  • Use electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and the intranet.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
