- At least 7 years of experience in an information technology environment with network architecture design and deployment.
- Experience with networking and security.

- Hands-on experience with firewalls including Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Versa SASE, as well as intrusion prevention and detection systems.
- Hands-on experience with TCP/IP, IPsec site-to-site virtual private networks, client virtual private networks, network address translation, and virtual routing and forwarding technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS and NX-OS.
- Hands-on experience with wireless design and configuration.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki, Identity Services Engine, Software-Defined Access, Catalyst Center, and Nexus Dashboard.
- Hands-on experience with Layer 2 technologies such as switching, virtual local area networks, and spanning tree.
- Hands-on experience with Layer 3 routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
- Hands-on experience with software-defined networking.
- Develop network technology solutions that account for business and technical requirements, sizing, existing infrastructure, data protection, security requirements, governance, and recovery objectives.
- Design and implement standard or custom technical solutions.
- Participate in operational escalations to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, network, and system problems, including replacing defective components when necessary.
- Participate in implementing network and system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Create documentation including conceptual designs, logical designs, physical designs, bills of materials, as-built diagrams, knowledge-transfer materials, frequently asked questions, and transition-to-operations information.
- Gather data about customer needs and use it to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements.
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations in client environments and determine hardware or software requirements.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate certification.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional certification.
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification.
