This key position is responsible to provide Certified Payroll reporting, set up and auditing. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Certified Payroll is a must.
Job Description: Certified payroll specialist
The certified payroll specialist works closely with the Payroll department, Project managers, Estimators, Branch managers and Flynn’s legal counsel, and is responsible for ensuring company compliance with federal and state regulations, along with weekly certified payroll filing on all certified payroll projects. Helps provide data and ensures company compliance with audits relating to certified payroll and union issues. This position reports to the US Payroll Manager and is based out of Spokane, WA.

A Day in the Life:
·Reviewing federal and state regulations pertaining to Davis Bacon and Prevailing wage
·Researching prevailing wages and wage policies
·Reviewing construction contracts
·Reviewing and understanding collective bargaining agreements
·Working with federal and state labor agencies on payroll audits
·Setting up/checking prevailing wage projects in the payroll system
·Reviewing payroll setups for certified jobs to ensure compliance
·Maintaining online accounts and completing weekly certified payroll filings
·Liaison with branches on certified payroll related items
·Help with Payroll ticketing system as needed
What you bring:
·Understanding of federal and state policies on prevailing wage and Davis Bacon projects
·In-depth knowledge of certified payroll regulations
·Strong time management, organizational and problem solving skills
·Excellent communication skills
·Accuracy and attention to detail a must
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
·Motivated and willing to learn
·Intermediate or better knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
·Experience with online certified payroll platforms (Emars, LCPTracker, State websites)
·Experience working with WA L&I, OR BOLI or similar state labor agencies
