Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 8 years of related work experience in an application or production support role.
  • Experience providing two-tier application support, assisting end users, and resolving production issues.
  • Experience maintaining scheduled jobs, troubleshooting processes, and resolving issues.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-module, custom applications.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Understanding of database principles and extensive hands-on experience with SQL.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX and networking, with experience supporting Java-based applications.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, middleware, databases, and web servers.
  • Experience with incident, change, and problem management.
  • Experience with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or other ticketing tools.
  • Willingness to provide rotating on-call support for 24x7 coverage, including off-hours and weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Provide technical application support to production applications, systems, and business teams.
  • Investigate incidents, interruptions, and bugs in operational systems; triage and resolve problems; and implement changes or workarounds to ensure continued application use.
  • Develop data extractions and reports from client requests or stated requirements using databases, report writers, data marts, or specialized applications.
  • Track production issues and periodically report them to the group responsible for monitoring production application uptime and efficiency.
  • Provide support during maintenance and upgrade events.
  • Train new employees and provide expert knowledge of production processes.
  • Document production applications, resolve application issues, and respond to requests.
  • Monitor performance metrics for production systems, identify root causes of technical issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Participate in periodic meetings, maintain production applications, and plan appropriate support strategies.
  • Mentor and support junior team members.
Desired Qualifications
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Command center experience or experience managing major incident events.
