Requirements
  • Support staff must be able to communicate details about the AURORA program in a clear and professional manner.
  • Support staff must be able to work independently on various types of projects with varied levels of support and guidance from full-time AURORA staff.
  • Staff members must be able to work successfully as a team in order to complete these projects.
  • Qualifications include group management experience, Wilderness First Aid and CPR/AED certifications, and the ability to drive a vehicle.
  • A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
  • Employment with the University will require successful completion of background checks in accordance with University policies.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare program gear and supplies.
  • Interact with prospective students at recruitment events.
  • Prepare campsites and trails for program use.
  • Maintain or clean gear, prepare supplies for backpacking trips, perform trail work, and complete other assigned projects.
