Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of previous experience in a doctor's office or health care facility is required.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing are required.
Responsibilities
  • Meet, greet, and orient patients to the floor.
  • Answer patients’ and family members’ questions or redirect them to an appropriate care team member for a response.
  • Transcribe orders; prepare patient charts on admission; maintain charts appropriately; dismantle charts upon discharge; prepare diet and census sheets; rewrite Medex once a week; prepare venipuncture lists; and assist in coordinating and compiling statistics as needed.
  • Perform patient and specimen transport duties.
  • Assist the care team with the discharge process.
  • Answer telephones professionally and distribute mail.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
