Requirements
  • At least 6 years of experience as an information technology risk and control professional, preferably within a Big Four accounting firm or the financial services industry.
  • Experience operating, supporting, and/or assessing information technology processes, including system development life cycle, technology vendor management, middleware technologies, and/or architectural governance and standards.
  • Experience conducting control testing, including issue remediation testing.
  • Familiarity with process mapping and control identification, along with data collection and analytical skills.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Strong technology background with exposure to databases, networking, cloud environments, and container platforms.
  • Strong information technology general control background, including exposure to change and release management processes and controls, understanding of key segregation-of-duty risks, and familiarity with functional and non-functional testing such as resiliency testing.
  • Ability to work proactively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and remain flexible.
  • Ability and willingness to meet aggressive deadlines and objectives.
  • Strong planning and project management skills.
  • Strong process mapping and data collection and analysis skills.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and enhance the information technology risk management framework, including tools and processes for identifying new or changed risks and relationships between risks.
  • Monitor and escalate key risk and control matters.
  • Support information technology management in maintaining a complete and accurate process, risk, and control library.
  • Formulate, disseminate, and administer information technology risk management policies and procedures.
  • Provide process, risk, and control consultation and evaluate control effectiveness to support management awareness of the control environment, including issue self-identification and issue-closure validation.
  • Liaise with Technology Risk, Information Security, Technology Centers of Excellence, and other subject-matter experts to ensure risks and appropriate mitigants are identified and communicated.
  • Maintain and enhance information technology management's process, risk, and control inventory, supporting documentation, mapping, and alignment to regulations.
  • Support information technology management's timely response to and remediation of risk and control tasks.
  • Identify issues proactively, perform root-cause analysis of incidents, and assess incidents and new initiatives for impact against enterprise risk frameworks.
  • Facilitate internal reviews, including internal audits and business continuity assessments, and external reviews, including regulatory examinations.
  • Identify and manage risk within the Enterprise Architecture, Data and Corporate Technology, and Information Technology Strategy organizations.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with information technology partners and control evaluation functions across the three lines of defense.
  • Develop, communicate, and ensure adherence to department risk policies, standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support and eventually lead risk-management activities, including reviewing policy and procedure documents for alignment with controls, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for risk and compliance items throughout the Enterprise Architecture, Data and Corporate Technology, and Information Technology Strategy organizations.
  • Gather, prepare, and review reporting inputs, including metrics and inherent risk assessments.
  • Track and escalate compliance items included on the Information Technology Risk and Control Report or dashboard.
  • Facilitate issue and action closure, including meeting coordination, evidence gathering and review, and documentation preparation and review.
  • Gather, review, and prepare evidence supporting control evaluations performed by audit and management control-testing functions and regulatory examinations.
  • Lead discussions with key stakeholders and staff to collect information requests.
