Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • At least 7 years of progressive financial leadership experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, nonprofit accounting, and financial compliance is required.
  • Experience with audits, financial planning, and board reporting is required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software is required.
  • Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a solid understanding of the Word of God are required, with evidence of a godly lifestyle based on that commitment.
  • A passion for Christian education and commitment to the organization's mission and biblical values are required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall financial strategy and planning across partner schools.
  • Provide financial counsel to heads of schools and boards to support sustainability and mission alignment.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems and controls to support school growth and operational excellence.
  • Direct the preparation of annual budgets and long-range financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and report actual-versus-budget performance and identify key trends and variances.
  • Guide schools through strategic financial planning and tuition modeling.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to school boards and leadership teams.
  • Oversee internal and external reporting processes.
  • Lead the preparation and execution of annual audits for partner schools.
  • Work with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Supervise the finance team, including controllers, accounting assistants, and other assigned support staff.
  • Build a collaborative, service-oriented financial culture across partner schools.
  • Attend key finance meetings, board finance committee sessions, and strategic planning meetings.
Desired Qualifications
  • CPA or MBA is preferred.
  • Experience in nonprofit or educational settings is preferred.
