About the job

Requirements
  • A degree or working experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering, computational fluid dynamics, or a related field, with sufficient technical depth to explain the value proposition to engineering buyers.
  • At least 8 years of enterprise sales or business development selling to aerospace and defense companies, with working knowledge of their procurement, security constraints, budget cycles, and stakeholder structures.
  • Experience selling to defense primes and/or defense technology companies.
  • A track record of personally sourcing and closing net-new software deals worth at least $1 million, rather than inheriting pipeline.
  • Active, callable relationships with VP-level and above leaders across aerospace and defense companies.
  • Experience operating in a startup environment, with comfort handling ambiguity, wearing multiple hats, and building processes.
  • Ability to explain the product precisely to engineers and executives.
  • A highly organized and proactive operating style.
Responsibilities
  • Build and run the go-to-market motion across defense primes and defense technology companies, from first meeting through signed and expanding contracts.
  • Map engineering organizations, relevant executives and technical leaders, and stakeholder success criteria within target accounts; develop an initial champion into an enterprise deal.
  • Run the full sales cycle, including prospecting, technical proof points and benchmarks, commercial negotiation, closing, and expansion across programs and business units.
  • Navigate procurement and supplier onboarding, security and export-control requirements, internal research and development versus program-funded budgets, and multi-stakeholder buying committees.
  • Lead initial technical conversations with computational fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, and simulation engineers, involving the research team in deeper technical discussions.
  • Quantify the business case by translating faster design cycles, fewer wind tunnel and flight tests, lower compute costs, and reduced program risk into value for engineering and executive buyers.
  • Map the aerospace and defense market and set go-to-market strategy based on sales cycles, budgets, customer needs, and delivered value.
  • Create an aerospace and defense sales playbook covering qualification criteria, messaging, deal stages, and repeatable processes for future hires.
  • Prepare concise briefings before and after customer meetings and maintain relationships across accounts.
  • Work with the CEO, other founding go-to-market leads, and research and engineering teams to shape product and strategy around buyer needs.
  • Represent the aerospace and defense business at industry conferences and customer sites.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience selling simulation, computer-aided engineering, or other engineering software, including computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, or digital engineering.
  • Hands-on engineering experience at a defense prime or aerospace company in design, analysis, or flight test.
  • An advanced technical degree: an MS or PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Active U.S. security clearance.
  • Experience selling artificial intelligence or machine learning products to engineering organizations.
  • Prior experience at an early-stage startup building a go-to-market function from scratch.
  • Relationships with commercial aerospace and space companies in addition to defense.

About the company

UniversalAGI operates as a forward-deployed AI lab that builds and deploys autonomous AI agents for enterprises and government organizations. Its platform provides the infrastructure, talent, and security needed to turn business concepts into production-ready AI applications that work with an organization’s most sensitive data. The system includes a suite of agents and automation tools and can often convert a concept into a working app in under an hour using natural language inputs, with emphasis on security, scale, and adaptability. The company differentiates itself by embedding expert AI teams with clients to deliver mission-critical, production-grade AI—often in secure or air-gapped environments for sensitive national data—and by combining no-code capabilities with enterprise-grade AI transformations. UniversalAGI aims to enable rapid, secure AI adoption across both private and public sectors, delivering autonomous, reliable AI solutions for complex, data-sensitive challenges.

What believers are saying

  • Precisely podcast coverage in February 2026 validates enterprise interest in agentic data integrity.
  • 2026 hiring for technical product and ML infrastructure roles signals active product commercialization.
  • Research posts in August 2026 show rapid model iteration and stronger technical storytelling.

What critics are saying

  • ZipRecruiter postings show multiple open roles, signaling a tiny, execution-heavy team.
  • If LIFT misses accuracy claims, engineering customers abandon it for established CFD vendors.
  • Dependence on founder-led enterprise sales makes UniversalAGI fragile before repeatable revenue.

What makes UniversalAGI unique

  • UniversalAGI positions itself as “OpenAI for Physics” for industrial simulation.
  • 2026 jobs cite LIFT architecture, replacing CFD solvers with seconds-fast physics outputs.
  • Its air-gapped, sensitive-data deployment focus targets defense, aerospace, and government buyers.
