The platform is designed to enable multi-year durability from a single dose, to deliver large genetic payloads, including multiple genes, to specific tissues, and to allow titration and redosing to adjust or extend expression levels in each patient. SUMMARY

Generation Bio is seeking an energetic and adaptable Senior Associate Scientist/ Principal Associate Scientist to join our Translational Biology Team. This lab-based position will involve implementation of in-vitro and ex-vivo assays to advance our non-viral gene therapy platform and characterize leads for our growing pipeline. The ideal candidate will have a background in mammalian cell culture, chromatography, and assay development and the ability to implement new methods and work collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop protocols, execute experiments, analyze data and interpret results with minimal supervision.
Optimize and execute methods to assess expression & functional activity in tissue samples, plasma/serum, and cells.
Culture mammalian cell lines and primary cells.
Document experiments and present data to project teams.
Contribute to general lab operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS. with a minimum of 2 years of related experience or M.S. with in cell biology, biochemistry or related field. Gene editing research experience a plus.
Experience in mammalian cell culture; experience with primary cells a plus.
Experience in gene delivery methods (e.g. transfection or electroporation).
Experience in chromatography methods, preferably high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Excellent lab technique and the ability to work independently.
Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and the ability to independently analyze and interpret data.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to support and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment.
