- Knowledge of and ability to use precision measuring and testing equipment.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot and solve complex maintenance issues.
- Fifteen years of industrial maintenance experience in at least two of the following areas: pneumatics, hydraulics, internal combustion engines including gasoline, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas, transmissions, and general maintenance on heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to deliver maintenance recommendations to the Fleet Manager in a concise and persuasive manner.
- Ability to function with minimal direction.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of industrial and small-engine equipment supporting forestry operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex and frequent maintenance issues in adverse, high-elevation conditions.
- Supervise and train mechanics and mechanics' assistants in equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with applicable original equipment manufacturer technical manuals, and record maintenance, parts used, and maintenance time in an online database using a cell phone, tablet, or laptop.
- Repair inoperable equipment, and record repairs, parts used, and repair time in an online database using a cell phone, tablet, or laptop.
- Perform repairs in one or more areas with little or no supervision, in accordance with service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
- Fabricate hydraulic hoses.
- Maintain equipment including Bobcat and ASV loaders, industrial tractors, delimbers, skidders, chippers, log loaders, harvesters, graders, dozers, excavators, grinders, generators, pressure washers, attachments, trucks, and trailers.
- Order parts using online databases, manuals, and catalogs.
- Deliver maintenance recommendations to the Fleet Manager.
