Requirements
- Knowledge of the duties of all Front Office and Guest Services areas.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations.
- Proficiency in Opera PMS.
- A hospitality diploma or degree is an asset.
- Current First Aid certification is an asset.
- Completion of Train the Trainer and Interaction Management is an asset.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliability and responsibility.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and cohesively with colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada; the hotel cannot assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional, engaging, and friendly service.
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Liaise with the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef to help achieve VOG, LQA, and budget goals.
- Participate in creating, implementing, and following up on action plans related to EES feedback.
- Collaborate with Restaurant Outlet Managers and Sous Chefs to help achieve each outlet’s vision and goals.
- Communicate the offerings of all food and beverage outlets within the hotel.
- Assist in developing menu packages to drive outlet business.
- Participate in department head, Food & Beverage, and Kitchen departmental meetings, team-building efforts, and other activities.
- Distribute VIP profiles and requests to the Food & Beverage and Kitchen operations teams.
- Communicate allergy and special dietary requests to the Food & Beverage and Kitchen operations teams.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required.
- Provide administrative support to the Food & Beverage and Kitchen teams.
- Monitor and maintain payroll, vacation, and statutory holiday records for the Food & Beverage and Kitchen department.
- Manage employee files and ensure appropriate paperwork is completed.
- Attend meetings as minute-taker.
- Post and update departmental information on communication boards and maintain those spaces.
- Maintain constructive, harmonious, and communicative working relationships between departments.
- Coordinate menu design and marketing efforts, including timely printing and distribution.
- Follow safety and sanitation policies.
- Follow the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies when driving hotel and guest vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
