Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification is required, with active status on the Illinois Health Care Worker Registry.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • The role requires competency in nursing assistant skills based on current scientific knowledge.
  • The role requires knowledge necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients in a physician’s office.
  • The role requires knowledge of growth and development principles appropriate to the patient population served.
Responsibilities
  • Provide basic nursing care to patients under the direct supervision of the office physician.
  • Maintain patient documentation and enter information in the electronic medical record when applicable.
  • Gather patient data and vital signs, and document them in the chart or electronic medical record when applicable.
  • Schedule patient appointments and referrals and perform office filing as needed.
  • Communicate pertinent information regarding patient progress and needs to the physician and enter the information into the electronic medical record when applicable.
  • Perform scribe duties when needed.
  • Chart on behalf of the provider when in the exam room, including the name, title, date, and time of each entry; ensure the provider signs off on the chart.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
