Axis launches three LPR camera kits. 04/09/2026 Axis Communications has introduced three purpose-built licence plate recognition (LPR) camera kits, designed for applications ranging from controlled vehicle access to free-flow traffic. Each kit comes with AXIS License Plate Verifier preinstalled, with processing carried out directly on the camera rather than through an external server. The cameras capture licence plates and, under suitable conditions, can also identify details including vehicle type, colour, make and model. The AXIS P3285-LVE Kit License Plate Verifier is aimed at slow-moving traffic and vehicle access control. The 2 MP dome camera allows users to manage allow and block lists directly on the device. Its vandal-resistant design also allows it to be installed at accessible heights around entrances and exits. For free-flow traffic, Axis has introduced two bullet-camera options. The AXIS P1485-LE Kit License Plate Verifier uses a 2 MP camera, while the AXIS P1486-LE Kit License Plate Verifier increases the resolution to 3 MP and incorporates global shutter technology. According to Axis, this helps capture clearer images of moving vehicles and allows licence plates to be identified across two lanes of traffic. Simon Emmons, Sales Manager, UK & Ireland at Axis Communications, said the kits are intended for applications including car parks, logistics sites and free-flow traffic monitoring, while avoiding the need for additional servers. All three kits include electronic image stabilisation and are built on open APIs, allowing integration with Axis and third-party video management systems. By combining the camera, LPR analytics and processing in one device, Axis is looking to make deployment more straightforward across different vehicle monitoring applications.
Axis Communications brings The Blueprint for Tomorrow to Sydney as headline sponsor of security and Integrate 2026. GUEST EVENTS: Axis brings physical security and network audio together, powered by innovation, integration and insight Axis Communications, the global leader in network technology and video surveillance, returns as headline sponsor of the Security Exhibition and Conference 2026 and the co-located Integrate 2026. The events open today at ICC Sydney and run through to 4 September. Physical security and audio technology are converging rapidly. Organisations are under growing pressure to unify systems, eliminate blind spots and turn everyday data into a source of real-time insight. Under this year's theme, The Blueprint for Tomorrow, Axis is showcasing at ICC Sydney how its technology is meeting this shift head-on. Wai King Wong, Regional Director for Oceania at Axis Communications, says: "We are seeing a profound shift in how organisations across Australia and New Zealand think about their security and audio infrastructure. Cameras and speakers are no longer just passive safety nets that sit on the ceiling waiting for something to go wrong. Today, they are active, connected edge platforms that provide real-time operational insights. By bringing the blueprint for tomorrow to life at these shows, we are showing how integrated, innovative solutions can help organisations move beyond traditional security and drive measurable values across the business." Axis is demonstrating this blueprint through three pillars: Innovation, Integration, and Insights at the Security Exhibition and Conference 2026. Innovation: breakthrough technologies for the network camera Realising the blueprint for tomorrow begins with hardware built for the intelligence organisations need today. Axis continues to push the boundaries to bring innovative technologies to the industry. ARTPEC-9, the ninth-generation system-on-chip developed in-house by Axis, is at the centre of its 2026 lineup. It brings AV1 video encoding to Axis network cameras for the first time, improving encoding efficiency by up to 20% compared to previous standards. Additionally, it embeds Signed Video into every frame at the point of capture, creating a verifiable chain of trust against tampering. During the show, Axis also unveils its upcoming launch of AXIS D2124-VE Radar. This powerful solution delivers 360-degree coverage across expansive areas, 24/7, in any weather and lighting conditions. Paired with the AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ Camera, it enables visual and radar double-knock verification with AI-powered classification, creating a perimeter that is virtually impossible to approach undetected. Integration: Open systems that eliminate silos Beyond hardware, Axis is addressing the friction caused by technology managed in isolation, a common issue that increases administrative overhead and entrenches data silos. At this year's Security Exhibition and Conference, Axis is showcasing how Axis Cloud Connect, an open, secure hybrid cloud platform that unifies video, access control, audio and enterprise systems into a single, scalable interface. It provides organisations the operational efficiency and business intelligence they need to run a true hybrid cloud-to-edge environment. Axis is also demonstrating the strength of its technology integration partner (TIP) ecosystem on the stand. Rather than forcing organisations to stitch together disparate systems, Axis works with industry-leading software partners to deliver pre-integrated, market-ready solutions. Insights: Turning data into decisions The blueprint for tomorrow comes full circle here: intelligent security should do more than record, it should inform. On the stand, Axis shows how AXIS Object Analytics turns raw video into actionable insight, cutting through noise so businesses see what matters and when it matters. These insights are consolidated in My System, a single dashboard giving organisations a unified view of their systems and devices. The result is faster, smarter decisions, and a security network that delivers value well beyond safety and security. Network Audio brings the blueprint to life at Integrate 2026 The blueprint for tomorrow extends beyond Axis stand at the Security Exhibition and Conference stand. At the co-located Integrate 2026, Axis showcases its Network Audio solutions, one intelligent IP-based platform that brings public address, background music and zoned audio management together across a site. This system replaces fragmented, single-purpose speaker setups with one system organisations can manage centrally. Visitors can step into the experience room for a fully immersive, hands-on look at how Axis audio solutions work together in a real-world setting, hearing first-hand how sound moves seamlessly across different zones and applications. The future of security and audio isn't coming; it's already on the floor at ICC Sydney. From 2 to 4 September, we invite industry professionals to visit Booth E16 at Security Exhibition and Conference 2026 and Booth HK26 at Integrate 2026.
