Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, specifically Civil, Architectural, or Construction, construction management, or a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of full life-cycle commercial construction management experience is required, preferably across diverse market sectors such as high-rise, multifamily or student housing, senior living, large-box industrial, and hospitality.
  • Conceptual estimating and bidding experience with an emphasis on commercial construction is required.
  • Proficiency with Procore, P6, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint is required.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required, without requiring company sponsorship currently or in the future.
  • Knowledge of required safety standards and procedures is required.
  • The role requires strong time management, organization, communication, self-motivation, work ethic, and creative problem-solving.
  • The role requires the ability to work in office and field-office environments, outdoors in varying weather conditions, and around moderate to loud noise and other health or safety hazards.
  • The role requires handling objects up to 50 pounds and standing, walking, sitting, viewing a computer screen, talking, and hearing.
  • The role requires a high level of autonomy in decisions affecting company results, client relationships, and subcontractor interactions.
Responsibilities
  • Execute and enforce safety standards, processes, and procedures, including keeping the project site clean and organized and conducting weekly safety inspections and monthly safety audits.
  • Enforce quality standards, processes, and procedures and conduct quality-control audits.
  • Support preconstruction efforts involving estimating, takeoff, project cost, and project duration.
  • Assist the Project Manager with negotiated and hard-bid estimates and propose value-engineering solutions based on the plans and specifications.
  • Assist Preconstruction and the Project Manager with analyzing subcontractor bids, selecting subcontractors, and executing subcontracts.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing bid proposals for submission to the owner.
  • Prepare permit applications and obtain necessary permits and licenses with the Project Manager's assistance.
  • Coordinate material and equipment procurement and expediting.
  • Determine construction requirements and procedures and maintain proper project documentation.
  • Generate and maintain requests for information, RFI responses, submittal logs, change orders, and meeting minutes.
  • Follow and promote established project standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Anticipate and identify project issues and risks, work with the project team to present solutions, and solve problems proactively.
  • Direct, coordinate, and monitor subcontractor activities on construction sites to ensure specifications are met.
  • Provide ongoing training and development for project engineers and assist with onboarding and training programs.
  • Support day-to-day construction management and take on advanced responsibilities alongside the Project Manager.
  • Contribute to preconstruction, field operations, office operations, financial and business activities, and personal development.
