Requirements
  • The candidate must be based in the New York City/New Jersey Tri-State Area and able to travel into New York City regularly for in-person media meetings and events.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required.
  • At least 2 years of public relations agency experience in the consumer goods industry is required.
  • Demonstrated project management experience managing timelines, deliverables, and multiple accounts simultaneously is required.

Responsibilities
  • Execute public relations strategies to achieve client goals while keeping projects organized, on time, and on track.
  • Manage day-to-day client communication, media relations, creative ideation, trend jacking, and hands-on project management.
  • Curate and oversee comprehensive databases for media contacts.
  • Discover editorial leads and freelance talent using Substacks and platforms such as Qwoted.
  • Compose and distribute pitches, alerts, and releases while monitoring earned placements.
  • Generate story angles designed to capture the interest of major national publications.
  • Lead specialized affiliate and commerce-focused outreach efforts.
  • Organize and attend press interviews and desksides in person, and create briefing materials for brand spokespeople.
  • Build professional relationships with journalists and content creators, including regular in-person meetings around New York City.
  • Track industry shifts and competitor visibility daily.
  • Oversee client recognition programs through research, strategic advice, and deadline management.
  • Own campaign timelines and ensure account milestones are achieved.
  • Develop project roadmaps, establish key goals, and identify potential bottlenecks early.
  • Monitor budgets and team duties, and provide updates to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Use Monday or Asana to maintain workflow transparency.
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams to execute deliverables.
  • Integrate artificial intelligence tools such as Claude or ChatGPT into drafting, reporting, and research.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging software solutions and educate the broader team on best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and improve output quality.
  • Support the conceptualization and launch of virtual or in-person press events.
