Careem is doubling tips for Captains in the UAE this Ramadan

Careem is doubling tips for Captains in the UAE this Ramadan. 16th February 2026 Your Ramadan generosity is about to go twice as far. This Holy Month, Careem has introduced a limited-time "Tip Matching" feature that will double customer tips for Captains across the UAE, but it won't be at any extra cost to you. Running from February 18 to March 19, Careem will match every tip of Dhs 10 or more made after a ride, delivery, or Hala Taxi trip booked through the app. So if you tip Dhs10, your Captain receives Dhs20. Tip Dhs25? They'll get Dhs50. It's a simple way to make a meaningful difference during Ramadan. Importantly, 100 % of all tips, including the matched amount, goes directly to Captains and is transferred instantly to their Careem Pay account, allowing them to access or move the funds straight to their bank. The initiative is designed to boost earnings during a month when many Captains are fasting while continuing to keep cities moving. According to Careem, the campaign reflects the spirit of generosity associated with Ramadan and its ongoing commitment to supporting its Captain community. Beyond Tip Matching, Careem and Hala will also distribute daily Iftar meals to Captains across the UAE, ensuring those breaking their fast on the road can do so with a warm meal. To take part, simply update or open the Careem app, book a ride (including Hala Taxi) or place an order via Careem Food, Quik, Shops or Box - and tip Dhs 10 or more to have your contribution doubled. Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and co-founder of Careem, commented: " Captains are the heartbeat of Careem. They serve our communities with relentless dedication, often while fasting during Ramadan. This year, we are doubling the impact of our customers' kindness: 100% of every tip goes directly to our Captains, and Careem will match it dirham-for-dirham. Rooted in our value of being 'Generous,' this initiative is a tangible way to honor the spirit of the Holy Month and improve the lives of our captains." Small gesture. Double the impact. Tip your Captain. Follow Whatson:
