What You’ll Do

At SimpliSafe, we strive to provide security where people should feel the safest - in their homes. Our technology and service platform secures the homes of millions of Americans without the hassles, long term contracts, or fees of traditional Home Security. Protecting our customers and their families is a tremendous responsibility, and supporting our growing internal user base is an integral part of that mission. We’re looking for a Director of IT to lead us through this journey. In this role, you will support a global SimpliSafe workforce and lead the IT team in delivering solutions and services that enable the business.

Primary responsibilities include: 

• Lead, mentor and build IT teams, all the while growing leaders
• Own IT globally - Headquarters, international locations, Contact Centers, and Supply Chain touchpoints
• Understand the business’ direction and anticipate future requirements, building a technical and service road map that will ensure the IT team can provide the necessary services to users when they need it, aligned with business-driven timelines
• Understand the end-user experience and deliver innovative technical solutions to keep SimpliSafe moving quickly, while decreasing any frictional barriers
• Specific responsibilities include leading the team in managing user accounts, all end-points, centralized services from collaboration tools to generative AI platforms, network infrastructure, physical systems such as badges and conference rooms, and Software-as-a-Service governance.
• Partner with the Information Security team in deploying and operating a zero-trust architecture that enables users to securely work from anywhere
• Balance the organization’s business objectives and ensure senior stakeholder buy-in
• Serve as primary control point during significant Information Technology incidents
• Objectively measure IT success through various metrics across the organization
• Regularly report to the CISO and other senior company leadership on the strategy and state of the IT (e.g. infrastructure, project portfolio, and team resources)
• Manage relationships with external IT vendors, industry experts and advisors
• Champion and educate the organization and its employees about the latest IT changes
• This role will have direct reports based in Boston and Richmond, Va.
• This role is hybrid requiring 2 days onsite in the Boston office, 3 days work-from-home.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or equivalent experience
• 5+ years managerial experience in Information Technology with a proven track record of developing a team.
• 10+ years IT experience
• Frequent travel to Richmond, Virginia locations
• Preferred platform experience using:
• Okta
• Mac & Windows operating systems
• Jamf Mac administration
• JumpCloud Windows administration
• Intune
• Lumos
• AWS
• Palo Alto firewalls
• Zoom
• Slack
• Jira and/or Monday.com
