Job Description
As a Supplier Quality Engineering Co-op, you will collaborate with engineers at Therma-Tru, playing a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products that drive our growth as the leading manufacturer of fiberglass and steel exterior door systems and the preferred entry door brand among U.S. building professionals.
In this co-op position, you will engage in measurement system analysis, including Gage R&R, and support supplier initial sample inspection reports (ISIR) and production part approval processes (PPAP). You will contribute to gage improvement projects and work directly with suppliers to enhance gage accuracy and product capability. Additionally, you will assist in problem investigations to determine root causes, utilizing drawings, material specifications, and other relevant documents. This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a cross-functional environment.
The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in chemical engineering, materials engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required, along with being a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder and having strong verbal and written communication skills.
Location: This position is based on site in our Butler, IN plant facility and housing stipend is available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measurement system analysis (including but not limited to Gage R&R)
- Supplier ISIR (initial sample inspection report) and PPAP (production part approval process)
- Gage improvement projects
- Supplier engagement for gage improvement and product capability improvement
- Problem investigation for root cause (include use of drawings, material specs, etc.)

Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program focusing on chemical engineering, material engineering, or related field from an accredited university
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder
- Great verbal and written communication skills
