SpaceX earnings due amid AI revenue surge, Tesla Merger buzz.

SpaceX earnings due amid AI revenue surge, Tesla Merger buzz. SpaceX is gearing up to release its Q3 results late Tuesday, marking its second earnings report since going public in June. CEO Elon Musk is expected to detail Starlink growth, artificial intelligence developments and updates to SpaceX's launch schedule following the Starship flight 14 last month. Investors await any news regarding a potential merger with Tesla (TSLA) amid rumors of a potential tie-up between Musk's companies. Tesla will report its Q3 results on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Evercore ISI hiked its price target on SPCX stock Friday ahead of results. Would A SpaceX-Tesla Merger Make Elon Musk Unstoppable? Following SpaceX's record-breaking IPO, Wall Street's attention has shifted to the next big play - a rumored Tesla-SpaceX megamerger. With both companies increasingly sharing engineers and resources, a deal might be a question of when, not if. Eva Ados, chief investment strategist at ERShares, breaks down the merger rumors and what they mean for your portfolio. Would A SpaceX-Tesla Merger Make Elon Musk Unstoppable? See All Videos Space Exploration Technologies (SPCX), also known as SpaceX, reports its Q3 results late Tuesday. Analysts expect earnings of 14 cents per share, though the sharp consensus of more recent forecasts is 23 cents. Either way, that would be the first positive reading for the rocket, wireless and AI compute play. Revenue should come in a $12.89 billion, according to FactSet. vs. $7.81 billion in Q2 and $4.694 billion in Q1. Cash burn is expected to remain heavy, at $10.8 billion, amid big capital spending. The company's space segment is expected to record $1.4 billion in revenue. The unit recorded $962 million in sales for Q2. Analysts forecast SpaceX's connectivity business, which includes Starlink, will report about $4.84 billion in revenue, up from $4.29 billion last quarter. SpaceX earlier this month purchased additional spectrum for its Starlink mobile service and won approval from the Federal Communications Commission to launch an additional 15,000 next-generation Starlink satellites. AI deals, compute plans. FactSet expects SpaceX to report $6.47 billion in artificial intelligence revenues as the company continues to win compute deals and build out its data center infrastructure. SpaceX in early October announced plans to raise $40 billion to purchase a batch of Nvidia (NVDA) AI chips. CFO Bret Johnsen at a September Goldman Sachs conference announced the company closed another hosting deal worth $1.11 billion per month starting Dec. 1, which translates to about $13 billion annually. William Blair at the time noted it was SpaceX's fourth compute agreement in the past four months worth more than $11 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR). The agreements included deals with Anthropic, Google-parent Alphabet (GOOGL) and potentially with the Department of Defense. SpaceX this year moved to sell excess computing power with xAI's Grok not gaining many customers. The results should include updates on SpaceX's data center buildouts and orbital data center plans. The company aims to deploy 5 gigawatts (GW) to 10 GW of compute by the end of 2027, increasing from a target of 2 GW for 2026. SpaceX next year plans to fly its first orbital compute satellites, before scaling deployments of compute capacity into orbit in 2028. Starship goals. Meanwhile, Musk is likely to detail plans for the Starship flight 15, after conducting the flight 14 test in September. SpaceX may attempt to catch the booster and spacecraft, depending on the findings from Starship 14. However, Musk recently trimmed expectations for Starship's launch tempo. Musk at a White House event earlier this month said he's aiming for 50 to 100 Starship flights next year, down from his previous target for 356 launches. SpaceX eventually plans to launch 30 flights per day by 2030, at a rate of about 10,000 per year. However, that goal may be in question following the latest update. Musk and SpaceX aim to develop a fully-reusable rocket capable of carrying millions of tons of payload to orbit, the Moon and eventually Mars. Analyst views. Elsewhere, Evercore ISI analyst Kutgun Maral on Friday hiked his price target on SPCX stock as part of a Q3 earnings preview, TheFly reported. SpaceX's "transformative catalysts" are "closer than they appear," Maral wrote. He expects the quarter to be judged less on financial performance than on the debates, targets and progress that should drive medium-term estimates and sentiment into 2027. Maral noted that SpaceX's "long-dated initiatives" can feel "more like science fiction than financial model." But the "proof points are closer than many appreciate," he said. The firm noted Starship reached orbit during flight 14 and deployed its first V3 satellites. Evercore sees "transformative catalysts" for the company next year. Maral lifted his price target to 275 from 230 and kept an outperform rating on the shares. SpaceX stock slides with AI retreat. SpaceX stock fell 2% on Friday, extending its weekly loss to more than 10%. Shares have trended lower this month amid the recent AI pullback. SPCX has broken below its 50-day line. SpaceX has rebounded from its record low of 104.83 from August but is trading well below its record high of 225.64 from mid-June.

TradingHub names former FactSet CEO Phil Snow chair.

TradingHub names former FactSet CEO Phil Snow chair. TradingHub has appointed Phil Snow chairman, adding the former FactSet chief executive to its board as it expands trade surveillance across equities and explores how AI agents could support compliance work. The appointment follows Nordic Capital's investment in the company and comes as banks face higher data volumes, more complex trading behavior and pressure to modernize monitoring systems. Snow brings A data-platform growth record. Snow served as FactSet's chief executive from 2015 to 2025. TradingHub says the company more than doubled revenue, entered the S&P 500 and expanded its global product and customer footprint during his tenure. That background is relevant because surveillance vendors must sell into institutions that already operate large, interconnected data and compliance systems. TradingHub's market is narrower than FactSet's, but the commercial challenge overlaps: financial institutions expect platforms to cover more data, integrate with existing systems and deliver measurable value across global operations. Snow's role is strategic oversight rather than day-to-day management. CEO Mike Coats continues to lead the company, while Snow's experience is intended to support the next stage of expansion. The board appointment follows Nordic Capital's investment, which FinanceFeeds reported as a majority investment supporting global growth. The investor said TradingHub has secured wins at global banks and momentum in equities and AI-powered surveillance. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed, leaving the size of the capital commitment and valuation unknown. Snow replaces Neil Walker as chair. Walker co-founded TradingHub and led it as chief executive for 14 years before stepping down from the executive chair role earlier in the year. He remains on the board, preserving founder involvement while the company adds an outside executive with experience scaling a listed data provider. Equities could expand the customer relationship. TradingHub says banks that already use its fixed-income surveillance are looking to bring equities monitoring onto the same platform. That opportunity matters because banks often have separate technology stacks across asset classes, reflecting different market structures, data formats and supervisory obligations. Cross-asset monitoring can help identify behavior that is difficult to see inside a single product silo, but it requires reliable normalization and an understanding of how markets function. TradingHub has built its pitch around market-risk and market-impact models that seek to distinguish meaningful suspicious behavior from noise. A low false-positive rate can reduce the burden on compliance teams, but vendors rarely publish comparable industry-wide performance measures. Buyers must examine alert quality, detection coverage, explainability and the amount of analyst time required to close an investigation. The market is competitive. LSEG has launched its own surveillance platform using private trade data alongside public market information. Legacy providers and specialist vendors are competing to address fragmented liquidity, complex instruments and growing regulatory scrutiny. Institutions will compare not only detection capability but implementation costs, deployment options and whether a system can consolidate several existing tools. TradingHub has also added deeper order-book analysis. Its order book surveillance product gives users a time-specific view of order activity around alerts. That product direction reinforces the company's focus on investigative context rather than rule-based alerts alone. AI agents could change compliance workflows. Snow highlighted AI as a second growth opportunity, saying TradingHub is working with customers on the use of AI agents in surveillance. In a regulated setting, an agent could help triage alerts, retrieve relevant market context, summarize case material or suggest follow-up checks. Any such use has to preserve auditability and leave responsibility with the firm's compliance personnel. AI may lower the time required to review a case, but it can introduce new risks if a system makes unsupported inferences or misses a subtle market pattern. Financial institutions will need to know which records an agent accessed, how its output was generated, whether the model can be challenged and how human decisions are captured. A surveillance platform that adds AI without transparent controls may create more governance work than it removes. That problem is part of a wider technology shift. Financial data vendors are opening licensed material to AI agents, while banks are testing automation for research and operations. Surveillance providers may be able to offer an advantage because their platforms already connect transactions, market context and case records. The question is how much of the workflow can be automated without weakening evidentiary standards. FinanceFeeds has also reported on regulatory action tied to surveillance deficiencies and Nasdaq's use of AI in market surveillance. The example underscores that institutions are accountable for controls even when they buy technology from an outside vendor. AI can support compliance, but it cannot transfer the firm's regulatory responsibility to a software provider. Global expansion will test the platform. Surveillance programs also have to demonstrate that their models behave consistently when market structure changes. A system calibrated for one exchange or one asset class can produce excess alerts or miss patterns when order types, trading hours and liquidity profiles differ. Buyers therefore need local validation and clear model-change controls alongside a global product roadmap. TradingHub says it plans to expand in regions including Asia-Pacific. Global growth can increase revenue opportunities, but it requires local market knowledge, data partnerships and support for varying rules. Surveillance models may need to reflect different trading conventions, exchange structures and legal obligations, while customers expect a consistent experience across jurisdictions. Snow's FactSet background may help the company navigate global enterprise sales and product expansion. However, TradingHub will have to prove that new markets can be served without diluting product focus or creating long implementations. The company has not disclosed revenue, customer numbers or its regional expansion targets. Takeaway: Snow's appointment adds scale and data-platform experience to TradingHub's board as the company targets equities, AI-assisted surveillance and Asia-Pacific growth. The strategic opportunity is broader institutional adoption, but the test will be whether the platform improves detection and case efficiency while preserving the audit trail and accountability that compliance teams need.
