About the Job

Requirements

  • A minimum B.E. or B.Tech degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience focused on definition, architecture, microarchitecture, design, and hands-on RTL coding using Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Strong understanding of ASIC/SoC product development, including design verification, timing constraints and closure, physical implementation, and quality assurance flows, with hands-on prior experience in several of these areas.
  • Proven experience handling large, complex hardware projects in a lead role.
  • Strong understanding of control-path and data-path digital design concepts and creating correct-by-construction solutions.
  • Experience specifying design verification requirements, including test plans and coverage metrics, and evaluating verification quality to achieve robust design quality.
  • Strong knowledge of lint, clock-domain crossing, formal equivalence, design-for-test concepts, power analysis, and low-power design.
  • Experience developing timing constraints and performing logic synthesis and static timing analysis.
  • Ability to technically mentor a large digital design team.
  • Strong understanding of standard on-chip interfaces, including APB, AHB, AXI, and streaming protocols.
  • Knowledge of processor/SoC architecture and/or digital signal processing fundamentals.
  • Good interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills to drive discussions effectively with geographically distributed teams.
  • For positions requiring access to technical data, applicants other than U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) may have to undergo an export licensing review process.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to a team of design engineers on digital design and quality assurance, including clock-domain crossing, low-power design, synthesis and timing closure, design-for-test improvements, and silicon debugging.
  • Architect and design key digital blocks, such as accelerators and data-path IP, in Verilog/SystemVerilog with configurability for power, performance, and area tradeoffs.
  • Apply understanding of heterogeneous processor cores and subsystems, including A55, M55, M4, U55, RISC-V, and DSP cores, and related infrastructure such as caches, interconnect fabrics, GIC, DMA, MMU, CoreSight Debug and Trace, TZC, SMPU, and SPU, along with their integration requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders, including product teams, project managers, senior managers, and leadership, to align team schedules, milestones, commitments, and deliverables.
  • Conduct detailed design reviews and drive adherence to quality metrics.
  • Create and manage an efficient collaborative design-team workflow, including a project-visibility system and design-review processes that clarify design delivery.
  • Drive development of design-management and IP-centric infrastructure and flows using tools such as Methodics, Perforce, and GitHub, including IP catalog creation.
  • Develop and maintain a catalog of digital IPs to facilitate information sharing with customers across business units.
  • Build team expertise in complex interfaces, peripherals, and protocols such as DDR, Ethernet, eMMC/SD, MIPI, DisplayPort, HDMI, PCIe, and high-speed die-to-die interfaces.
  • Package digital IP for seamless integration at different design-flow stages, including RTL, constraints, clock-domain-crossing waivers, timing waivers, design-for-test DRCs and waivers, and software programming sequences.
  • Drive evaluation of third-party IP for power, performance, and area, as well as design quality, design-for-testability, design-verification robustness, and ease of integration, and make recommendations.
  • Establish evaluation flows for internally developed and third-party IP to enable consistent benchmarking.
  • Manage and streamline consolidation and curation of digital IP blocks, including standard peripherals, processor cores and collateral, and high-speed protocol and interface IP.
  • Reduce complexity and ambiguity in team processes and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Serve as the communications focal point, compile regular stakeholder status updates, and escalate critical issues and risks as needed.
