Requirements
  • Certification as a Nurse Anesthetist is required.
  • A Master's of Science in Nursing is required.
  • A current New York State Registered Nurse license, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered anesthesia for cardiac, vascular, neurosurgery, pediatric, and obstetric surgical procedures.
  • Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for scheduled and emergency surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Provide one-on-one anesthesia instruction for Columbia University and Fairfield University's Nurse Anesthesia Program.
  • Participate in a minimal amount of obstetric call.
  • Work assigned day-flex shifts of 8, 10, 13, or 24 hours.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is preferred.
  • A Doctor of Nursing Practice or Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice is preferred.
