- At least 2 years of experience in a high-pressure boiler room is preferred.
- The ability to communicate effectively is required.
- The ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds and climb a ladder is required.
- A Massachusetts Second Class Fireman License is required.
- The ability to communicate effectively with all age levels served within the scope of the position and assigned areas is required.
- The ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of oneself or other individuals in the workplace, with or without reasonable accommodation, is required.
- Operate and maintain steam boilers, auxiliaries, and chiller plant equipment.
- Represent the Facilities department on nights, weekends, and holidays as the first contact regarding facilities.
- Provide vacation coverage in the boiler plant without a set shift.
- Work day shifts with other trades as needed during periods without coverage.
- A Massachusetts First Class Fireman License or higher is preferred.
