Requirements
  • Be a member in good standing of the OIIQ.
  • Have at least 2 years of recent critical-care experience in emergency or intensive care.
  • Have completed PIQ training, the INSPQ 10-hour basic immunization course.
  • Have completed the Nunavik Tuberculosis—Basic Concepts course available through ENA.
  • Submit a current complete résumé, valid OIIQ permit number, copies of nursing diplomas, a driver's licence and second identity document, proof of current residential address, a criminal and municipal record check issued within the past 3 months, current CPR certification, tuberculin skin test results issued within the past 2 years, N95 mask model and size, and the date of the N95 fit test conducted within the past 2 years.
  • Be available for the assignment and able to adapt to an isolated setting while respecting Indigenous communities.
  • Manage stressful situations effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Assess, follow up, and provide required nursing care for the dispensary's multi-clientele.
  • Manage medical emergencies and stabilize critically ill patients while awaiting transfer or medical evacuation.
  • Administer vaccines and participate in local immunization campaigns.
  • Screen, follow up, and provide awareness related to infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis.
  • Collaborate with the local care team and remote consulting physicians.
