Requirements
  • At least three years of education and/or prior co-op experience.
  • Familiarity with Java, Angular, Oracle, OpenShift, Python, and/or ASP.NET.
  • Familiarity with test automation.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and RESTful web services.
  • Knowledge of relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to contribute working software and test automation scripts.
  • Ability to use AI technologies ethically, securely, and compliantly while protecting confidential, customer, and company information.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to apply emerging AI capabilities, tools, and best practices.
  • Ability to use AI to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, and increase business value.
  • Ability to use AI to support technical problem-solving and decision-making while retaining ownership and accountability for final work products.
  • Must be based in the Rochester, New York area and available to work on-site at least three days per week, with a preference for five days per week, Monday through Friday, throughout the co-op experience.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working at a computer; no heavy lifting is expected, with exertion of up to 10 lbs.
Responsibilities
  • Use AI-assisted tools and technologies to improve productivity, accelerate problem-solving, enhance quality, automate routine tasks, and support innovation.
  • Collaborate with Scrum team members and stakeholders to share deliverable status, provide feedback, and contribute to plans, designs, specifications, source code, test scripts, and documentation.
  • Build a foundational understanding of debugging concepts and tools used to troubleshoot software issues.
  • Develop technical knowledge with mentorship and guidance from more senior engineers.
  • Develop awareness of overall service architecture and contribute to basic functions in ways that avoid duplication across codebases and prevent interface-breaking changes.
  • Understand and apply the importance of security in software design, development, and delivery.
