About the job
- Have at least 3 years of prior experience as a project engineer or project manager at a mechanical contractor.
- Have advanced plumbing, HVAC, process, or industrial product and equipment knowledge.
- Be able to track budgets, schedules, and project deliverables.
- Be familiar with mechanical construction codes, contracts, and project delivery methods.
- Be able to sit for prolonged periods, lift up to 15 pounds at times, read printed and digital documents, climb ladders, access and egress trenches, attic spaces, or confined spaces, communicate in noisy environments, recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions, wear personal protective equipment as needed, and grasp, handle, and manipulate small objects.
- Assist in developing project schedules, budgets, and manpower plans.
- Monitor labor, material, and equipment costs, and prepare progress and cost reports.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of work and materials.
- Support field supervision in resolving issues, addressing schedule conflicts, and maintaining productivity.
- Prepare, process, and track change orders, billings, and other project-related documentation.
- Assist with procurement, equipment buyout, and subcontractor agreements.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate, organized, and maintained for project closeout.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare agendas, minutes, and follow-up action items.
- Support compliance with company safety standards and jobsite safety programs.
- Develop working relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Mentor Project Engineers and support project team development.
- Experience with high-purity process piping, cleanrooms, or tool installation.
