Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 years of related experience with Kubernetes and other container platforms.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
  • Knowledge of Broadridge Appia, open-source QuickFIX, and SWIFT Alliance Access products.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Knowledge of creating Dockerfiles, building images, running containers, and managing Docker volumes and registries.
  • Good knowledge of the Financial Information eXchange protocol and FIX order flow.
  • Administrator-level knowledge of Linux and networking, with command of a scripting language such as Shell, Perl, or Python.
  • At least 4 years of experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Jenkins, continuous integration and continuous delivery, Amazon Web Services, and VMware.
  • Proficiency in code compilation, packaging, and deployment, with experience using code analysis and coverage tools such as SonarQube.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing and maintaining continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using Bitbucket, GitHub, and Jenkins, infrastructure automation, and cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of branching strategies, merging, and access management in Git-based version control tools.
  • Training or knowledge in Amazon Web Services, VMware, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Linux, Bash scripting, YAML, Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana, and Jira.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift Cluster, Amazon Web Services, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins for continuous integration and end-to-end build and deployment automation.
  • Knowledge of provisioning Amazon Web Services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, IAM, Route 53, VPC, Auto Scaling, CloudWatch, Lambda, security groups, and SNS.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience provisioning VMware virtual machines, disk storage, and TCP/IP-related services such as DNS.
  • Experience handling critical and major production incidents.
  • Hands-on experience supporting a real-time trading environment.
  • Knowledge of solutions supporting applications that use high-performance messaging and middleware.
  • Understanding of FIX client and exchange connectivity support.
  • Experience developing automated solutions in a distributed computing environment.
  • Strong ability to diagnose and fix middleware FIX and SWIFT product problems.
Responsibilities
  • Design, install, configure, maintain, and support middleware solutions on distributed Linux systems and appliances.
  • Drive implementation of the container platform ecosystem used for QuickFIX in the cloud.
  • Independently install, customize, and integrate commercial software packages using continuous integration and continuous delivery tools.
  • Develop and fix defects, create user stories in Jira, perform root cause analysis, and support project installations and maintenance for Distributed Systems Engineering platforms hosted on cloud platforms.
  • Assist with development of the Distributed Systems Engineering and Integration team's container strategy.
  • Manage cluster capacity and provision underlying hosts through automation.
  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 engineering support to platforms and other engineers.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, review new and existing code, and perform unit testing with experienced team members.
  • Create system documentation and playbooks.
  • Develop work estimates for work packages with experienced team members.
  • Install, configure, maintain, debug, and resolve FIX and SWIFT Alliance product implementations on Linux while maintaining production stability.
  • Provide advanced production support and assist development staff in troubleshooting application issues involving FIX and Linux.
  • Provide immediate support for production Appia, QuickFIX, and SWIFT Alliance implementations.
  • Participate in weekend support rotations, implementations, and disaster recovery tests.
  • Manage patching, upgrades, and other infrastructure operations on FIX and SWIFT servers.
  • Create and maintain detailed system documentation and diagrams for job aids and knowledge transfer, and provide cross-training to team members.
  • Analyze system performance and capacity statistics and provide recommendations.
  • Maintain, author, and debug administrative utilities using Bash and Perl.
  • Follow DTCC incident, change, and problem management policies and procedures.
  • Architect implementation and support solutions with development staff and teammates.
  • Use Jira, Bitbucket, and Ansible for project and software management.
  • Lead and implement automated solutions.
  • Recommend process and technology changes.
  • Align risk and control processes with day-to-day responsibilities, monitor and mitigate risk, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Complete complex projects and installations within required time frames and budget parameters.
