Requirements
  • Possess a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Have at least one year of experience; certifications or past work may demonstrate the required experience level when years of experience are absent.
  • Have experience with the Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise, Scrum, and Kanban.
Responsibilities
  • Deploy and configure services using infrastructure-as-a-service providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, and RackSpace/OpenStack.
  • Configure and manage Linux-based servers to serve a dynamic website.
  • Debug cluster-based computing architectures using scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems.
  • Install and manage open-source monitoring tools.
  • Configure management tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, and Salt.
  • Architect continuous integration, continuous deployment, and continuous monitoring.
  • Use and work with containerization technologies such as LXC, Docker, and Rocket.
  • Maintain, manage, and update current and future third-party software, including commercial off-the-shelf and government off-the-shelf tools, ensuring compatibility, usability, security, and performance.
  • Apply updates, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with software vendors to resolve issues or implement changes.
  • Maintain, manage, and update current and future application programming interfaces, ensuring compatibility, usability, security, and performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and customize software solutions when no other solution is available to meet laboratory requirements.
  • Ensure software development adheres to industry standards, best practices, Department of Justice standards, Federal Bureau of Investigation standards, and software development lifecycle standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide documentation for software, including application programming interfaces, scripting, automation, changes, testing, and user and administrator guides.
  • Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines to automate application testing, deployment, and monitoring when required by the government.
  • Conduct code reviews, apply secure coding techniques, perform vulnerability scanning, and conduct unit, integration, system, and user acceptance testing to ensure quality and performance when required by the government.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and validate requirements so software solutions align with laboratory objectives and user needs.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on new software applications and updates to ensure smooth adoption and effective use.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends while evaluating and integrating new tools and practices to improve software development and maintenance processes.
  • Design, develop, deliver, and sustain automated functional extract, transform, and load processing and pipelines, and validate extracted data from structured and unstructured inputs.
  • Validate data extracted from structured and unstructured data sources, databases, and other repositories, using scripts and automated capabilities to load data, logs, and queries.
  • Advise government personnel on incremental changes that could lead to continuous improvement in products or processes.

  • Experience working in a multisystem environment to include FBINET, UNET, LabAPP, Sensor Management System, Sample Tracking (Visi-Trac RFID), Records Management System, ADAMS Web, STACS-DB (Sample Tracking and Control System – Database), and STACS-CW (Sample Tracking and Control System – Casework).
