About the job

Requirements
  • FPGA development and RTL design using Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
  • Experience with AMD Vivado or Intel Altera Quartus and FPGA development platforms.
  • Good programming skills in C under Linux, with basic knowledge of assembly language.
  • Strong interest in hardware/software codesign and embedded systems.
  • Experience with Git and standard software development workflows.
  • Familiarity with shell scripting, Makefiles, and compiler toolchains.
  • Experience using profilers and debuggers to analyze and optimize software performance.
  • Ability to work independently, investigate technical problems, and communicate results clearly.
  • Final-year engineering student or pursuing an M2/Master's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, embedded systems, microelectronics, or a related field.
Responsibilities
  • Study state-of-the-art approaches described in scientific literature on post-quantum cryptography hardware acceleration and implement selected approaches.
  • Design, integrate, and evaluate hardware accelerators for mathematical functions used in post-quantum cryptographic algorithms, focusing on the Number Theoretic Transform and the Keccak state permutation function.
  • Develop system-level RTL code using SystemVerilog.
  • Integrate the resulting accelerators into a complete hardware/software system.
  • Evaluate the accelerators' impact on application-level performance using an AMD Xilinx ZCU104 development board equipped with a Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC.
  • Demonstrate on the target platform that a hardware accelerator for either the Number Theoretic Transform or Keccak permutation can accelerate the corresponding ML-KEM or ML-DSA implementation in the CryptoNext Quantum Safe Library.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of AMBA protocols, such as AXI, AHB, APB, or CHI.
  • Experience with JTAG-based debugging.
  • Experience with QEMU, including the Xilinx fork of QEMU.
  • Experience with QEMU/SystemC/Verilator co-simulation.
  • Previous exposure to post-quantum cryptography, lattice-based cryptography, ML-KEM, ML-DSA, Number Theoretic Transform or Discrete Fourier Transform, Keccak, or hash functions.
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux and Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC architectures.

About the company

CryptoNext Security provides post-quantum cybersecurity tools to shield data and systems from quantum computer threats. It focuses on Quantum Safe Remediation (C-QSR) to help clients migrate to quantum-safe cryptography across applications, data, and infrastructure. Its product suite, built on the C-QSL core library, includes the QSL Library (algorithms), QSC Services (protocols and crypto objects), C-QST Tools (development tools), and application plugins. The tools work together to support multi-layer migration, addressing different functions, use cases, and regulatory requirements in an ecosystem of standards rather than a single approach. The company’s goal is to help customers transition smoothly to quantum-safe systems and protect data with ultimate post-quantum security and performance.

What believers are saying

  • April 2025 COMPASS Discovery launch widens product scope beyond libraries into asset inventory.
  • October 2025 Banque de France PQC experiment validates buyer urgency in regulated finance.
  • March 2025 ProvenRun and 2026 integration show traction in high-assurance embedded markets.

What critics are saying

  • 11M€ funding from 2023 limits burn runway against larger PQC vendors.
  • Competing standards firms like Thales and NIST-backed ecosystems compress differentiation by 2030.
  • If enterprises delay migration past 2035 deadlines, CryptoNext becomes a niche compliance vendor.

What makes Cryptonext Security unique

  • Founded in 2019, CryptoNext Security covers PQC remediation, discovery, and embedded TEE integration.
  • ABI Research named CryptoNext a 2026 Hot Tech Innovator for PQC IP.
  • March 2025 ProvenRun partnership extends CryptoNext into aerospace, defense, automotive, and IoT.
