  • Hands-on experience with high-performance computing (Slurm/PBS or equivalent) and/or cloud computing platforms.
  • Working knowledge of at least one of GWAS, Mendelian randomization, fine-mapping, colocalization, polygenic risk scores, or related statistical-genetics or causal-inference methods.
  • A publication record appropriate to career stage, including at least one first-author peer-reviewed publication or accepted preprint in a quantitative biomedical area.

Club M&A and McGill's Dobson Centre launch acquisition programme as $218B in Canadian businesses set for ownership transition

Club M&A Canada and McGill's Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship have opened registration for their first Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition programme. The intensive four-day course, running 27–30 October in Montreal, targets professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in acquiring existing small or medium-sized businesses. The programme addresses a significant succession challenge in Canada. According to the Business Development Bank of Canada, nearly one in five Canadian businesses will undergo ownership transition within five years, representing over $300 billion in business revenue. Marc Deegan, founder of R33 Ventures, will serve as programme director. The curriculum covers developing investment theses, target evaluation, financial and legal considerations, acquisition financing, and post-acquisition transition. Instructors include transaction professionals, lawyers, tax specialists, investors, and entrepreneurs with acquisition experience. Admission is by application, with no prior M&A experience required.
