Requirements
  • At least 7 years of professional programming experience
  • Experience in building and operating production software in the cloud at scale
  • Knowledge of modern relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Solid understanding of Linux or other UNIX-like systems
  • Experience in Agile development and Continuous Delivery
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and infrastructure tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet (Desirable)
  • Web application development experience (Desirable)
Responsibilities
  • Identify the needs of the Babylist Engineering organization 3-9 months in the future and develop plans to meet those needs
  • Build cloud infrastructure, manage the production environment, and participate in the on-call rotation to support applications with millions of monthly active users
  • Analyze and implement performance improvements in the API and backend application layers
  • Improve development, deployment, and monitoring tools
  • Mentor other team members through design and architecture planning, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions
