This role is eligible for equity, benefits and other forms of compensation. Salary range for individuals working in San Francisco Bay Area: $170,000 - $256,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission).

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience developing and improving on robust, scalable backends for user-facing applications
  • Strong backend experience with application backends, microservices, supporting high throughput ingestion systems, optimizing caching that balances speed and correctness
  • Understand the full stack and flow of user-facing web applications – frontend experience is a plus
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Can synthesize customer input and architectural knowledge to create outsized engineering impact
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements
  • Constant desire to learn and grow in the field of web development
  • Have experience with defining, managing and scaling AWS solutions via infrastructure as code tools
  • Have experience managing CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong practitioner of automated testing
  • Have familiarity with the following: (Javascript, Typescript, Node.js, Python)
  • Have interest or experience in technical leadership of an engineering team
Responsibilities
  • Drive business impact through owning end-to-end delivery of projects
  • Operate with a focus on rapid but sustainable delivery through proper sequencing and experimentation
  • Advocate for the right priorities and communicate effectively with engineering leadership
  • Contribute to definition of SLAs and upholding operational excellence for applications and services that power the data management experience
  • Contribute to the technical direction of the team, product, and systems
  • Get involved in performance optimization and scaling efforts
  • Work with Product Management and Design to generate and turn novel ideas for solving customer problems into engineering solutions
  • Drive engineering discussions and engineering best practices
  • Mentor and contribute to the success of other engineers on the team
