Requirements

  • Working knowledge of environmental, safety, health, and company policies.
  • Physical dexterity and strength to lift heavy objects and move through confined areas.
  • Ability to work in a dusty, noisy, and potentially hazardous plant environment.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Schedule, supervise, and participate in process-flow studies for all production systems.
  • Plan, design, coordinate, and schedule process-flow improvement projects.
  • Train and support plant personnel in process-flow activities.
  • Work with Night Plant Supervisors, the Maintenance Planner, and the Automation Engineer to address process-flow concerns and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement regular system-flow analysis programs.
  • Prepare process-flow materials and services contracts.
  • Analyze equipment shutdowns and recommend operational and control changes.
  • Follow up on implementation of agreed-upon operational and control changes.
  • Ensure supervised personnel adhere to company plant rules for conduct, health and safety, and environmental issues.
  • Administer appropriate disciplinary actions for violations.
  • Provide on-call coverage for routine and emergency plant needs.
  • Fill in for the Production Manager as necessary.
  • Conduct or attend weekly safety meetings.
  • Inspect the department daily for unsafe working conditions and equipment to reduce on-the-job injuries and eliminate lost-time accidents.
  • Supervise contractors on production-department projects.
  • Maintain cost records for process-control project work.
  • Ensure work orders required by operations and safety inspections are provided to the Maintenance Planner.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • Cement industry experience is preferred.
  • Cement industry operational familiarity is preferred.
