About the job

Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
  • Skill in preventive maintenance of equipment such as boilers, pumps, compressors, and fans.
  • Familiarity with DDC temperature control systems, oil-fired water heaters, and automatic water softeners.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical repair instructions.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues independently.
  • Sound judgment when responding to emergency calls or unexpected repairs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and repairs.
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols, including universal precautions, personal protective equipment use, and hazardous material handling.
  • Ability to report policy or safety violations promptly and follow escalation procedures.
  • Professional response to maintenance and security calls from staff.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Willingness to rotate shifts and respond to off-hour emergencies.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple facilities under CVMC, Inc.
  • One year of formal training in a skilled trade or two to three years of on-the-job training experience in plant maintenance.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and comfort of buildings and equipment.
  • Conduct and document monthly fire drills and emergency generator tests.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to diversional work programs as needed.
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as mowing, raking, and snow removal.
