Requirements
  • A South Carolina or compact-state Registered Nurse license is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Direct and lead assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide age- and developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Provide patient- and family-centered care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
  • Perform nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and implement interventions, coordinate care, provide health teaching and promotion, and evaluate goals and interventions in accordance with MUSC policies.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
  • Participate in the professional practice model, shared governance, peer review, professional development, and activities promoting leadership and clinical excellence.
  • Apply effective team skills, autonomous practice, accountability, and critical thinking.
  • Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services through care-management principles.
  • Identify clinical priorities and initiate actions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Promote a healthy work environment and take personal responsibility for professional growth.
