  • At least 8 years of progressive leadership experience managing global teams and enterprise-scale initiatives.
  • Deep, demonstrable expertise in the Payment Facilitator/PayFac model, merchant acquiring, and the acquiring value chain, including onboarding, underwriting, risk, compliance, processing, funding, settlement, and servicing.
  • Strong working knowledge of network rules and regulatory frameworks, including Mastercard/Visa Service Provider registration, anti-money laundering and sanctions, know your customer/know your business, MATCH, and chargeback/dispute regimes.
  • Proven experience designing delegation, risk, and control frameworks that balance operational flexibility with registered-party accountability.
  • Experience defining commercial packaging, pricing, and go-to-market models for platform or managed-services offerings.
  • Demonstrated success influencing executive leadership and driving cross-functional alignment across Product, Risk, Compliance, and Legal.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, executive communication skills, and advanced PowerPoint and Excel proficiency.
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
Responsibilities
  • Own global end-to-end PayFac-as-a-Service product strategy and multi-year roadmap, defining target client segments, use cases, and value propositions for embedded payment facilitation.
  • Define the core capability proposition, identifying baseline capabilities and optional modules across onboarding, risk, compliance, processing, funding, reporting, and servicing.
  • Translate market demand and client needs into a product and capability catalogue, differentiating the PayFac proposition in the commerce and payments landscape.
  • Promote PayFac-as-a-Service as a partnership path for clients seeking payment capabilities without building a full operating stack, focused on proposition, distribution, and merchant experience.
  • Own the operating-model spectrum, enabling clients to select operational capabilities to retain or consume from Fiserv, from Full-Service PayFac through Managed PayFac to Fiserv-led PayFac-as-a-Service.
  • Define the delegation and qualification model, including low- and medium-risk activities qualified clients may execute and governing eligibility and delegation rules.
  • Establish the responsibility model across the acquiring value chain, classifying activities as client-owned, delegable/shared, or Fiserv-retained across strategy and go-to-market; onboarding and underwriting; fulfilment, processing, and funding; risk and compliance; merchant servicing; and reporting and governance.
  • Ensure final allocation is client-specific and validated against legal role, Service Provider registration, funds flow, control design, and Fiserv risk appetite.
  • Own the delegation risk framework, assessing delegability using funds exposure, decision authority, regulatory and network impact, registration dependency, data and system access, and oversight feasibility.
  • Define retained authority and risk appetite, including final merchant approval and exceptions, funds access and payout control, settlement accountability, MATCH decisions, network reporting submission, and PF sponsorship authority.
  • Ensure high-risk capabilities such as AML/sanctions decisions, underwriting authority, and settlement are retained or tightly controlled, while low- and medium-risk activities are delegated with appropriate qualification, monitoring, evidence, and escalation controls.
  • Ensure registered-party accountability and oversight remain continuous across the value chain, and that delegated activities retain qualification, evidence, monitoring, escalation, and intervention rights.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal to secure required approvals and maintain alignment with Mastercard, Visa, and other network rules establishing accountability boundaries.
  • Define global product requirements for merchant onboarding, KYC/KYB, underwriting analysis, and merchant activation, balancing client-led workflow with Fiserv decision authority and controls.
  • Oversee design of fraud monitoring, portfolio monitoring, disputes and chargebacks, and merchant servicing capabilities in a shared-execution model with defined thresholds and intervention rights.
  • Ensure reconciliation inputs, operational reporting, and network-reporting submission have clear ownership and validation.
  • Define the commercial model, including what is included in platform pricing and which services, modules, or controls are priced separately.
  • Own service packaging and pricing strategy, aligning value delivered with client operating-model choice.
  • Structure client-tailored Fiserv-led, Shared Service, and Full-Service offerings to match each client's capability, controls, and risk profile.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to define positioning, launch readiness, portfolio narratives, and commercial enablement for PayFac-as-a-Service.
  • Lead the PayFac-as-a-Service go-to-market strategy with Sales and Partnerships, translating Fiserv strategy into client propositions and proposal strategies.
  • Align Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Operations around common priorities and measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead the PayFac-as-a-Service operating rhythm, including QBRs, MBRs, operating reviews, and roadmap reviews, ensuring decisions, owners, and follow-through are clear.
  • Drive executive communications and stakeholder alignment on PayFac-as-a-Service strategy, progress, and risk posture.
  • Establish the oversight and contracting model, including evidence, reporting, audit, intervention, and remediation rights for a governed operating and contracting framework.
  • Define and monitor PayFac-as-a-Service KPIs, onboarding and portfolio performance, risk indicators, and commercial outcomes.
  • Drive accountability for execution against strategic objectives, network obligations, and portfolio commitments.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global PayFac-as-a-Service organization spanning product, delegation and risk design, onboarding/underwriting, and commercial enablement.
  • Develop talent and future leaders through coaching, mentoring, and career development.
  • Create a collaborative operating model across product, technology, risk, compliance, legal, sales, and operations teams.
  • Influence senior executives and stakeholders without direct authority to achieve enterprise outcomes.
Desired Qualifications
  • An MBA or advanced degree.
  • Direct experience standing up or scaling a PayFac, PayFac-as-a-Service, or embedded-payments business.

Klarna expands Fiserv partnership to enterprise merchants.

Klarna expands Fiserv partnership to enterprise merchants. Klarna integrates with Fiserv's Commerce Hub, allowing enterprise merchants to easily launch BNPL options in-store and online. Curated by Financing Your Way from original reporting by Finextra - Lending. Summary is AI-assisted and editorially reviewed - see its editorial standards. This partnership expansion makes it significantly easier for large-scale retailers to integrate Klarna's payment options. By joining Fiserv's Commerce Hub, Klarna is now a standard option for merchants using one of the world's largest payment processing infrastructures. For your business, this means a faster rollout of 'Buy Now, Pay Later' (BNPL) services without needing custom coding or complex technical overhauls. The update covers both online stores and physical retail locations across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. For operators, the primary benefit is consolidation. Instead of managing a standalone integration for Klarna, you can now toggle it on through your existing Fiserv relationship. This reduces the technical debt usually associated with adding new payment methods. Klarna's presence at the point of sale is proven to increase average order values and conversion rates. Consumers are increasingly looking for interest-free installments to manage their monthly budgets. By making Klarna a native part of the Fiserv ecosystem, the barrier to entry for enterprise-level merchants has effectively disappeared. If you already use Fiserv for processing, you should evaluate how this integration fits into your current checkout flow to capture more sales during peak shopping seasons. Who else is covering this
