Seven S&P 500 stocks need 200%+ rallies to reclaim all-time highs

Seven major S&P 500 companies with market capitalizations exceeding $20 billion need to rally at least 200% to reach their previous all-time highs, according to Bespoke. The struggling firms include PG&E, PayPal, Ford, Nike, Las Vegas Sands, Zoetis, and Crown Castle. Nike has experienced particularly poor performance, with the company's stock trading at record lows and its dividend yield approaching 5%. Recent quarterly results showed Nike Brand sales fell 4%, online sales dropped 13%, Converse sales declined 28%, and China sales crashed 26%. CEO Elliott Hill indicated that weakness in the sportswear market would persist. PayPal faces intense competition in the payments sector. New CEO Enrique Lores reportedly declined a buyout offer from Stripe and will focus on cost reductions and improving customer experience.

The AVA secures $150,000 Zoetis Foundation grant.

The AVA secures $150,000 Zoetis Foundation grant. The Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) has received a USD $150,000 grant from the Zoetis Foundation to expand its Cultivating Safe Teams program nationwide. The funding will support the AVA's goal of training every veterinary professional in Australia to identify and manage psychosocial risks in the workplace. More than 1,300 veterinary professionals have completed the training since it launched in 2023. Cultivating Safe Teams is the flagship program under the AVA's THRIVE wellbeing initiative, which targets psychological harm in veterinary workplaces. Dr Diana Barker, President of the AVA, said the grant would allow the organisation to broaden the program's reach. "Veterinary teams do extraordinary work under real pressure, and for too long the toll of that pressure has gone unaddressed. "This grant enables us to take a program that works and put it in front of every veterinary professional in the country." The program grew out of the AVA's 2021 Veterinary Stakeholder Wellness Survey, which found two in three veterinary professionals had experienced a mental health condition, and almost half said their work was harming their mental health. Cultivating Safe Teams runs as a one-hour awareness session built around evidence-based workplace psychological health and safety frameworks, designed to fit around busy clinic schedules. Among participants, 93 per cent rated the session useful and 94 per cent rated it relevant, while confidence in identifying psychosocial hazards rose by 60 per cent. Dr Barker explained that proactive management of psychosocial risk is now the law in every Australian jurisdiction, so there has never been a more important time to act. "This is about more than compliance. It is about building workplaces where people are safe, supported and want to stay, and that is good for our people, our patients and the future of the profession." The AVA is now expanding the program beyond awareness-raising with a new offering, CST ACTION, which trains workplace champions to run a validated risk assessment and design initiatives tailored to their own hazard profile. The offering includes coaching from organisational psychologists, self-paced modules and peer-to-peer learning. Expressions of interest for the 2027 program are open now on the AVA website. Jeannette Ferran Astorga, Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Zoetis and President of the Zoetis Foundation, said the funding reflected the company's commitment to the sector. "The veterinary profession is foundational to animal health, and the professionals caring for animals deserve workplaces that protect their wellbeing. "We are proud to support the AVA in scaling a program that is already making a measurable difference to veterinary teams across Australia." Cultivating Safe Teams is delivered with support from the Zoetis Foundation, Crampton Consulting Group, Hill's Pet Nutrition and Troy.
