The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a process oriented, quality focused Production Technologist to work with a fast paced and dynamic production group, to support development and manufacturing of Xylem core technologies and tools to meet Xylem expanding business needs.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
- Complete electro-mechanical assemblies through in-house training and assembly documentation
- Maintain & update production related documents with accuracy and effectiveness
- Able to troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies
- Ability to use test equipment such as multimeter, wave generators, oscilloscope, etc.
- Proficient in hand soldering PCB and wiring assemblies
- Test products as required
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Perform repetitive tasks
- Cable and harness assembly
- General shop tasks
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent English verbal & written communication skills
- Able to follow complex and detailed technical documents with attention to procedure
- Disciplined work ethic displaying initiative & requiring minimal supervision
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Understanding of electronic component assembly and wiring
- Experience with evolving production processes, improvements and implementations
- Able to work under pressure, with tight deadlines, and changing priorities
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Education and Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in small batch electronics and equipment manufacturing
- Electronic Technologist diploma
- Mechanical and/or Electronics background an asset
