INNOVATE WITH US: JumpCloud is hiring innovation-focused Principal Engineers for our Labs team. Drive fast-moving change across the organization and collaborate across our entire product engineering group. Experience with AI, Auth, Identity & Devices is a bonus. AWS, Kubernetes, Golang as well.

As we continue to grow the JumpCloud internationally, we are hiring a principal engineer for JumpCloud Labs. You’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in the success and development of our engineering teams in addition to growing your own career. We are seeking a senior engineer who is passionate about building great products with forward looking vision.

You will be responsible for building new technology initiatives. You’ll build out features, help drive architecture, define best practices and enable platform quality. We’re operating at startup scale and speed and as a senior engineer, you will work on prototyping and solving the problem in an innovative way.

What you’ll be doing:

Prototyping and building POC for new ideas which JC is looking to invest in.
Responsible for evaluating, prototyping and showcasing forward looking technology pieces which are of interest to JumpCloud customers.
As an active member of the JC Labs team, partnering with peers and other teams to build, lead, and inspire new initiatives.
You work closely with the Architecture team to drive innovation in all areas of the JumpCloud product portfolio.
Provide technical leadership and oversight to other teams in your areas of expertise.
Plus: Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions to address business challenges and optimize performance. Work with business units, product teams, and stakeholders to identify use cases and deliver AI solutions.

We’re looking for:

10+ years experience as an engineer and leading teams.
Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP or Azure)
Full-stack experience, ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts (backend, frontend, data pipelines, AuthNZ, PKI, Identity, Windows/macOS/iOS/Linux/Android, …)prevalent technologies: Golang, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes
Experience working in a distributed systems environment
Strong collaboration skills to help technically drive and oversee complex projects on multiple teams from conception to completion
Ability to work with ambiguity and drive clarity while delivering incremental value
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment
Strong technical foundation in software engineering design principles
We are also looking for experience with relevant libraries and frameworks in the Machine Learning and AI space (also beyond current Gen-AI trends), and for building performant and scalable systems, APIs, and microservices. This is particularly relevant for integrating AI technology into existing infrastructure at JumpCloud.
