Requirements
  • A master's degree in social work from an accredited college or university is required.
  • A current Massachusetts social work license at a minimum of LCSW is required; LICSW is preferred.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Word are required.
  • Three years of medical, psychiatric, or substance-abuse experience are required, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or be exempt for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying the choice to be exempt once hired.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical social work services to patients and families, assisting to remove barriers to care through interventions and referrals for financial and transportation issues.
  • Independently provide case management services, including applying clinical diagnostic, assessment, or treatment knowledge and skills.
  • Identify and address psychosocial factors that may impede patients' ability to optimize benefits from the healthcare delivery experience.
  • Provide age-specific assessments of psychological and social functioning, determine psychiatric diagnoses according to current DSM criteria, and establish intervention plans to address identified issues.
  • Screen and evaluate patients and their families for psychological distress during diagnosis and disease progression.
Desired Qualifications
  • LICSW is preferred.
  • Hospital setting experience is preferred.
